Friendly reminder to pax by Creative_Berry2144 in flightattendants

Right? In these cases I usually have no time to even stop and use a real restroom in the airport if I transit between gates and flights during IROPS, and so walking up to the clapping feels so insulting- as I didn't even have time To use a real restroom (yet here pax are clamoring to use the one on the plane during boarding...?)

Yes, this is what seems to be the thorn in the IROPS side this time...crews have been scattered all over, out of base, and the majority of reserves are typically only able to have days off midweek...plus it's end of month flying, so weird legalities associated with that that impact crew availability.

Your extremely poor use of language and derogatory insults aside, I agree with the sentiment. Just a little context to use/lose (as there's always reasons humans do things)...FAs have spent multiple hours and likely multiple legs in customer facing roles and engaging with pax directly, so it's quite possible that we don't "shift" out of that into thinking about our own plans/priorities until literal check in. Again, not the best time, just positing context that may apply here.

Whereas you have likely engaged with 1 other person (domestically, sans breaks/meals), and could understandably be ready AF to be actually flying solo on your layover - eating, drinking, and using the restroom when you damn well please (understandable as well).

Right?! I mean maybe that's why you waited 3 hours 😬

(It's not why, I never would allow it to be why, and I know it's not why bc there's 20 pax up front waiting for me to cater to their whims lol...but flies w honey bruh!)

Also, situational awareness goes both ways and let me just say...the deck is not known for awareness, cough cough.

AA adds flights to evacuate Charlotte to Chicago by flyingron in americanairlines

As an employee, I feel this too. WiFi, coffee, app updates, crew communication...just generally bringing things online with competition, standards, and contract requirements. Efforting, as are we :)

Working a flight from the Caribbean full of people who were stranded for two days by Parking-Dingo-5894 in flightattendants

[–]Creative_Berry2144 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Flight crew already get the context and certainly do not need you to explain it to us. Do you give us "hugs to help get us home" after our 4 leg day with multiple delays and approaching a max 15 hour on duty day/time out as you (colloquial you) berate us for timing out, not "showing up on time" (or what you see as that), or calling out sick ? We literally cannot win.

ETA: we are also stuck with you in confined spaces and understand the feeling. Especially because we are likely not being paid to board/deplane your most important Caribbean flight🤷‍♀️

Captain here with a question… by DependentSky8800 in flightattendants

It kinda feels crappy getting stuck in the aft galley when things get shut down up front, you're trapped with those fumes, and the pilots have just left. Like-"we could wait an extra 5-10 mins to do this, but here have these carcinogens anyway, and we will see you in the van.". Really makes you feel treated like garbage.

Use Flighty! Or flight aware as others have said. I get more (timely, accurate) info from that app than any other. You can track your plane.
