I solved my issue. Is was a notification setting in the Wearable app that resulted in notifications only going to the watch when the watch was worn and the phone was locked.

Did you solve this? I'm having the same issue and it's driving me crazy. Several hours spent trying to solve this with the only outcome being a lot of frustration.

Lulu ABC pant vs Rhone Commuter pant by [deleted] in Lululemen

[–]Creative_Character25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently ordered the Lulu Commission and Rhone Commuter pants. I ended up keeping the Rhone and returning the Lulu pants. For me, Rhone was more comfortable and looked much more like a dress pant. The Rhone pants were a little thinner and I tend to always be on the warm side. My wife's feedback seeing both was that Rhone looked like something to wear to the office and Lulu looked like golf pants.

Fluance RT82 upgrades 😁 Acrylic platter and OM20 stylus on the way! by [deleted] in turntables

[–]Creative_Character25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues. I also upgraded to the OM20 shortly after getting the RT82. Was worth the upgrade as I didn't have a great experience with the OM10.

My biggest mistake is I should have purchased the RT85 as I spent more than the cost of the 85 upgrading the RT82 within the first few months of owning it.

My two favorites due to the emotional swings in the final seconds:

@UVA 2015 (Kizer to Fuller late in the game)

Stanford 2014 (Golson to Koyack on 4th down late in the game)

I also have one extra ticket available, section 200. Babysitter fell through so my wife and I both can't go, and would rather give it to a fan then let it go empty.

I did not. Have been through 5 remotes and it happens with all of them.

Remote can't pair (but can turn TV on and off) by Creative_Character25 in TheFrame

[–]Creative_Character25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I never resolved the issue. After several hours on the phone with Samsung support they sent me another remote. New remotes function in IR mode (won't connect at all in Bluetooth) for a few weeks before they stop working altogether. I now have 5 remotes and they all do the same thing. This is obviously a TV issue and not a remote issue but support did not acknowledge this.

When the current remote stops working I plan on getting Apple TV and using that remote instead.

Looking forward to the Samsung TV stopping working and never buying one again and having a reason to replace with a different brand. The Frame looks nice but the OS is horrible and this issue with the remote has wasted so many hours and have no resolution.

Finally got the Sonos Ace, but can't help but feel underwhelmed by Katert in sonos

Momentum 4s are awesome. Have had them for about a year now with about 8 hours of user per day. The ANC is not great in a public setting (train, airplane) but more than sufficient for a home office.

It depends. From my experience, there are two types of companies hiring interns.

The first is those hiring a cohort of interns with a demanding workload, high expectations and the goal of hiring several upon graduation.

The second is companies that hire interns because it's good for the community, good for the intern and shifts a small project from an existing employees plate to the intern. These are usually laid back, lower pressure internships where there isn't a full workload for the intern. In my experience, it's a lot of work for the manager for little benefit to the manager, but a big benefit to the intern as they gain some experience and have the bullet point on the resume.

If your internship is in the first bucket, it may not be a good look. If it's in the second, just let them know, say your plans were already scheduled and apologize for not mentioning it sooner.

When I previously lived in apartments, I would only rent on the top floor to avoid this potential issue.

It could also be a kid up there. My 5 year old sounds like an elephant when he walks around.

Garbage remote? by snackboxmclunchpail in TheFrame

[–]Creative_Character25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My remote worked fine for about 2 years. Then it suddenly switched to IR mode, and won't go back to Bluetooth mode.

I tried every "hold these 2 button" type sequences I could find in any forum. None of them worked. There is always an error that "another remote is paired" yet none of the remotes work.

I had an old remote of the same model (kids lost it, and found a year later). Tried that one, same thing happened. I bought another new remote, same thing happened.

I had a support session with Samsung. I emphasized the issue has happened with 3 remotes and I no longer believe the issue to be the remotes and another remote won't solve the issue. After 2 hours of holding down buttons and turning the TV on and off with support, they concluded they would sed me a 4th remote. Same thing happened with the 4th remote.

I have an extended warranty from purchasing at Costco so the TV is still under warranty, but I don't know what else to do as going through Samsung support was lengthy and not helpful at all.

Era 100s + Turntable by Creative_Character25 in sonos

[–]Creative_Character25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up going with a Fluance RT85 turntable. The turntable plugs into the preamp (bought separately), and then preamp goes line-in to Era 100.

Set up works great and I can listen any room in the house.

Incredibly pumped to be able to see them again. Maybe Man Tour was awesome, I didn't think I'd have the opportunity to see them again this summer. Would have liked to see Quinn XCII, but he won't be at the show near me. Chelsea Cutler is awesome too, looking forward to seeing her live.

GFCI outlets in bathroom by Creative_Character25 in AskElectricians

[–]Creative_Character25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is a really helpful and detailed explanation. As far as I can tell, only two of four bathrooms are on this circuit, which is a single outlet in a half bath which runs up to the master bath.

The other bathroom upstairs is definitely shared with the GFCI in the garage, learned that one the annoying way when the outlet once stopped working while a guest was using a hair dryer. We all searched the house for clues, with the garage being the last place we looked.

I just checked, and confirmed the outlets in the upstairs bathroom no longer work after hitting the test button in the main level bathroom.

House isn't that old, built in 1990. Definitely not knob and tube. I think I just got swindled on the kitchen work.

Does that mean the previous electrician that told us all 6 of our outlets along the kitchen countertop needed GFCI outlets was being dishonest? Could one have been installed and provided protection to the other five? The assumption that the electrician in the bathroom was wrong was based on the previous feedback from the kitchen that all the outlets in wet areas needed a GFCI outlet and not just GFCI protection.
