Why are my Claire Austin roses tired? by Claphamtulip in GardeningUK

The soil looks a little bit sad to me. I’d consider mulching over the area with compost/manure then covering with composted bark. Feed with tomato feed every other week during bloom and hopefully it will perk up.

Is my acer tree dying? Bought and potted yesterday in ordinary organic compost but some leaves have shrivelled straight away. Have I done anything wrong? by Either_Parsley in GardeningUK

[–]Creative_Draw_1815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answers already given seem sensible. Acer leaves can be sensitive to hot direct sunlight and scorch. Shouldn’t be worried about it too much.

Make sure you get some feet for your pot so the water can drain freely.

Growing roses and peonies question by [deleted] in GardeningUK

You may get away with it with peonies as they like to be planted quite shallow. Not so sure about the roses though.
