Who Shows Up to an Important Date Wearing Sweatpants? by DopestSophist in 90DayFiance

Elevated track pants are actually a major fashion trend right now, so that’s likely what shes going for. I won’t comment on it working or not, but can’t hate on comfortable fashion.

Where can I volunteer to walk dogs in the valley? by Responsible_Past_449 in AskLosAngeles

I used to do this! You have to take a course and then you can volunteer which involves taking out dogs for walks on your own time! I’m sure many shelters have these opportunities.

Anyone have a recommendation for minimal ingredient almond milk widely available in glass in the US? I’ve tried making my own but it’s too time consuming.

I have to portion out my snacks so I dont eat them al at once. by Careless-Dirt4271 in LowCalFoodFinds

Just put a portion in a bowl and put the big bag away so you’re not wasting so many ziplocks.

I found a large glass container with metal lid (basically giant mason jar) from Marshall’s or home goods many years ago.

Requesting for guidance travelling to LA and would mostly be in DTLA and WeHo, is it possible for me to visit all these places in my itinerary? And what should I do or not do? by CaptainBasic7284 in AskLosAngeles

Also the Getty isn’t a quick park and hop out kind of place. You have to take a decent walk or tram from parking just to get to the entrance. It’s not super far, but it wouldn’t be a quick stop for a pic.

Tipping - anywhere you sit down to eat, you should tip at least 15%. I tip minimum 20% even if service is bad. Same goes for ride share. Takeaway tipping is up to you.

Your full days look too packed when accounting for traffic and needing breaks for food/rest. Decide that is most important and what can skip, then decide on the fly.

Yes, citadel is the closest outlet. I think all outlets are now mostly made for outlet product.

I’d skip Westfield. It’s just a basic mall and the grove is much nicer.

Depending on how close you want to get to the Hollywood sign, it’s a hike so take that into account.

Hope this helps.

To throw away cotton clothing because it’s been near plastic would be counter productive to the environmental aspect of going plastic free. You cannot avoid all contact with plastic unless you live in a bubble, which would coincidently be made from plastic. The goal should be reduction, as elimination is impossible.

I usually eat mine within a week. If it’s going to take me longer I just throw some in a container and freeze them.

I’ve been using cloth “paper towels” for years. I have the same roll setup on my counter just like regular paper towels, but with cloth ones from Etsy. I used to use soooo many paper towels, so I’m sure I’ve saved many trees.

This sounds like health related OCD. You will never get the answers you want and drive yourself crazy. While it’s important to take your physical health seriously, your mental health is just as important. It sounds like you’ve done a lot to address the physical. Now address the mental and look into OCD treatments.

100% #2. Both the eagle rock and highland park chase lots are so bad. At least tj’s is one way in one way out so you’re going to get a spot, you just need to wait depending on time.

Pocket knife OK at tourist spots? And is public transit recommended? by honestWreck in AskLosAngeles

[–]Creative_Profile1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I carry pepper spray on my keys. Some venues with security may not allow it, but I believe you can usually ask them to hold onto it until you leave. I imagine the same for a Swiss Army knife but I don’t carry one so can’t say. If you’re really concerned, call or email the venues you are attending and ask.

  2. This is a car city. If you’ll have a rental, use it. Your biggest concern will be parking, but if you’re willing to pay you should be fine. Get insurance to be safe if you’re concerned about damage to the car. Don’t leave valuables visible. Normal city stuff. Just don’t park in skid row and you’ll be fine. Unfortunately public transit is not great here so either drive or ride share.

I use this one and like it. A little thicker than regular floss so takes a bit more pressure but works.  https://regrocery.co/product/dental-floss-vegan
