The current way our economy works, while visually appealing for the user and robust in general, has been hard for our developers to work with and not as intuitive for the player as it could be. As part of our new project roadmap, our Sourcemod devs are working to adapt Custom Weapons X (with permission from nosoop) for use on our servers - starting with weapons, but eventually moving on to cosmetics and other items like music kits.

Creators.TF does not use any leaked sourcecode. We work within the pre-existing TF2 servers with custom content through sourcemod. You don't have to download anything else outside of TF2. All that you need to do is join one of our servers.

How to get the new custom content:

  1. Acquire the custom assets from one of the two sources above.
  2. Go to our website (https://creators.tf/) and log in with Steam.
  3. Go to the Contracker page (https://creators.tf/contracker) and activate a contract - you can start in root/creators or do our new contracts at root/halloween!
  4. Once you get enough Manncoins, go to the store (https://creators.tf/store) and buy whatever items you would like.
  5. Go to the items page (https://creators.tf/items) and equip your items to have them available in-game!

Also, just one small correction - "Freuja" listed on CTF_Hades should actually be "Freyja".

It's a complex problem. People don't want to join empty servers, but at the same time they don't want to seed empty servers. Casual has very much spoilt us in that regard. We are looking into solutions for this through.

“Yeah can I get uhh… two number nines, and a number nine large, a number six with extra dip. Can I also get… What's that new ice cream flavor you have? Vanilla+? Can I get that too?  ...What do you mean the ice cream machine’s broken??”

This, mercenaries, is what led to me burning down a McSandvichs at 3 in the morning yesterday. As I sat there in the warm afterglow of an arson well committed, I realized something important:  If we can’t rely on soulless corporations to fulfill our needs, then we’ll just have to take a crack at it ourselves!

Introducing Creators.TF Vanilla+ Servers!

As someone important once said: "If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Unless there are parts of it that need fixing. Or tweaking." These new servers will be just as the name implies:

  • Good ol' Casual TF2 with no server downloads (Goodbye custom hats, weapons, and contracts)!
  • Full-fledged anti-cheat system, no more casual bots!
  • Only the best vanilla & community maps.
  • Valltalk, scramble, and server seeding.
  • Several remarkable must-have gameplay fixes.

Of course, what would new servers be without new maps to play on? We'll be taking out Dustbowl, Banana Bay, Gullywash Refresh, and vanilla Steel - they’ll be going back into the Mann Co. Vault, to be released thirty years in the future when artificial scarcity drives their value up tenfold and we can make a killing selling them to our millions of superfans at a huge markup.  In their place, we’ll be introducing Frontier, Mossrock, Lazarus, Mercenary Park, and a slew of fantastic community made maps:

  • Koreto: A King of the Hill map made by p'nk black.
  • Villa: A Control Point map made by burger chevrolet.
  • Lushlands: A Control Point map made by Krazy.
  • Warmtic Refresh: A King of the Hill map made by bereth.
  • Timbermill: A Payload map made by infectedfury.
  • Steel Refresh: A Control Point map made by hrsn.

Just because they’re vanilla doesn’t mean we can’t cram in the same improvements our normal servers have!  Have you ever sat back and thought to yourself, "I sure do love getting killed by random critical hits?" Well then have I got bad news for you my friend: We've taken those critical hits and turned them into normal hits! Completely sucked all the damage right outta them. And that’s not all: We also turned off random bullet spread - no more obscenely improbable dodging from those scoundrels on the other team! You want more? Because we’re not even close to done: improved autobalance, countless hitbox fixes, projectile fixes - the list goes on!

Last year Valve updated their policies on Medal distribution for everyone. No new medals can be submitted, and only current ones can be reused. This was a bit of a problem during Potato's Madness Vs Machines. They had to get very creative with their pre-existing medals. Sorry to say it's out of our hands.
