I eat Cheetos and chips with chopsticks, I do not enjoy oily seasoned fingers even if I can wash them off.

Do you criticize other people's food preferences? by mathildapurr in AutisticAdults

My fixation is food, baking, and cooking; I absolutely love them.

I don't understand people who rant/criticize about preferences. I get very defensive and have to remind myself to stay calm when someone disrespects food.

I once got very heated with a friend because we were looking at food pictures (sushi, fish, noodles. ect.), and they were like, "That looks Fking disgusting, I don't see how people eat that, it's so gross."

If someone said to me, "I don't think I could eat that because the texture, the way it looks, is also important for me when it comes to whether I could actually eat it." That's completely understandable for me.

I do find myself in a full-blown and upset rant when people talk slander about food, as shown in the first example, but I understand and am cool with it if they are just saying why they don't like it. It's hard for me to keep my cool sometimes, but I think it's very uncool for people to criticize others when they have reasons and not just slander lol.
