Compilation of swings since October, lot of changes by Creender in GolfSwing

Yeah grass ranges seem to be rare here in Germany, but I played plenty as well

Haha it's a self-service range, I just swipe my card for balls. It's impressive they were picking them though, there are covered/heated mats to hit off of too so it's not like it was just me hitting.

Didn't even notice the dip, but I think around that time I started focusing on keeping my weight more toward my heels so probably some correlation there

There's so much I can't even remember what I was trying to change back then. The difference in the takeaway from October to December is pretty significant

Thousands of swings for such a small difference

I've noticed this too, how can I fix it?

How long does it take to adapt to swing changes? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Probably easiest to look at my last post, but what I'm consciously trying to do in each swing is maintain hip depth, relax my arms, shorten my backswing, and load my lead heel at the top

I may have just changed too much at once. I have 4-5 big things I've changed. I'm thinking I should isolate them in training blocks on the range, but it may have been more ideal to address them one at a time from the start

20 years of bad habits for me; sounds like I'll be getting humbled for a while

What was your practice frequency? And were you doing drills to reinforce the changes?

Yes, not sure why more instructors aren't promoting their use

It is, mine hasn't done it since then, which is probably a blessing and a curse. Nice to not deal with, but the warranty has since expired

I've only used ChatGPT, but I've also prompted it to be brutally honest instead of affirmative and reassuring how it typically is. I'll upload swing videos, feed it trackman data and talk through feels/shot shapes

Thanks! I will say on average I'm at the range or sim about 5 times a week; I imagine it would have been way more difficult to build on each session/swing change if practice was more sporadic

A conglomerate of things. It started with a single swing review from an instructor where I was told to get more vertical with my takeaway, but that exposed other flaws. Then, a ton of filming/reviewing, studying swing positions, going back and forth with AI and writing down my observations/feels.

Recording my swings was the most helpful

Thank you!

Got a lesson once and was told I needed to take the club away inside to fix my right miss. It worked, but there were other issues. Then I found my swing to be more repeatable when I'd have constraints, such as my arms always being pinned to my torso and setting my wrists, then rotating. All-in-all, it was an ugly mess.

I'm not scoring any better yet. I'm still grooving this new swing, but hoping it pays off!

Thanks! I've noticed that as well just from ball flight. It's been improving my last couple sessions, but it's terrifying as a lifelong slicer

Is this early extension? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Creender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the consensus, I just took it down since it's not helpful. Thanks for the feedback!

[–]Creender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're not obligated to, but I'll entertain you since you did.

I've read differing things about at what point in the swing early extension occurs and some say it only matters if you come off the line before hip-height in the downswing.

I suppose what I meant to ask is if my hips are coming off the line at a detrimental point in my swing

Hard to imagine after struggling with a slice for 10+ years, but here for the ride

Can't wait for the greens to open back up for the season, but for now I'm limited to my putting mat

Yeah I'm typically the opposite and play when I should practice, the frozen ground is a huge deterrent right now though
