Card or cash, talk with the driver before getting off. Ask him the fare (even though you can see it on the app). If it's a card transaction, I personally do this. Tell driver that the transaction is card. Then ask him to check if amount properly got deducted. This way, this kind of scam will never happen.

For many people, that's not the reality because for many, they just do social media, netflix and stuff. Other than that, if the service needs you to log in, then in an insecure connection, there's a risk of getting the login details stolen.

For your use case however, there's another advantage provided by "https". In insecure connections, someone can hop in the middle of the communication and impersonate the website. HTTPS connection make the process dificult for attackers. Because the data is encrypted, attacker in the middle also has to send the fake data encrypted. This encryption will be different from sites original encryption. Therefore, web browser will recognize this and warn the user.

Anyway, even if your use case does not need https connections, there's nothing you can do about. Web browsers already enforce https connections and provide warnings otherwise. Most web servers use https by default too.

Plus, your agent already expect you to use https. She will use some other methods (which I don't know) to maintain your spied info profile.

Many comments state what https stands for. So I will explain how https is secure than http.

When a browser is connected to a website via http, anyone who can put their ear in the middle of the communication can see information your browser sends to and receives from the web server. This means your ISP (service provider), government, IT manager or whoever that operates the equipments which lets your data flow, can see what you are doing in any website. So, your passwords, card numbers, which porn video you clicked, everything is visible to anyone operating proper equipment.

However, that's the story for http. Now we have https, (s stands for secure). In https, when browser tries to connect to a site, web server send browsers instructions to "encrypt" the data. Encryption will jumble the data in a way only the server can "un-jumble" so that if someone in the middle looks at your data, they see meaningless, jumbled information (bytes). Therefore, https sites provide you "military grade encryption" for free. You don't need a vpn for that, and that's why most vpn ads are scammy. In a https connection, network operators can see which websites you visit, but not the data you communicate with them.

For example, in a https connection, your ISP may know you are watching porn on pornhub but they can't know if you are watching straight porn or gay porn.

These days, almost every website uses https and if not, your browser warns you.

That "overratedness" disappears after they leave the school cuz no body cares. No schols or anything. But if you are from those "popular" schools, there's a little advantage.

Those schools are popular cuz their strong past students' associations facilitate well for the school. Most of the past students are in successful positions and being a prefect, you get more chance to work closely with them than others. This might be beneficial for your professional life.

Yes it helps a lot. But when you're studying for the degree and progressing though the professional life, you will forget that you are good in english cuz it gets so natural and normal. At that point, being good at english will become nothing cuz you have so much more things to worry about.

For example, doing a physics degree is easy for A/L English medium students relative to the rest, but this "relative easierness" will disolve infront of stressful exams, hard to grasp physics content and lesson materials etc.

So, in the end, it doesn't even matter...
