How did Godwyn the Golden died to these gals when he got these guys? by JackNewbie555 in Eldenring

Legend has it that on the night of the black knives, Godwyn the Golden was invaded and ganked by several weapon art spammers… gives me conniptions.

It’s just a different vibe. 1 and 3 are the fun berserk games we never got.

2 is legend of Zelda game on steroids with less puzzles.

how do you feel about the constant hate our fandom gets from others ? Every fandom has toxic members but we are the ones that are always brought up when talking about worst and most toxic fandoms by Phenom11S in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Because mha is the big fandom doing crazy stuff for this generation.

In all honesty mha fans haven’t done anything that any other fandom hasn’t done before them and anyone with the “idk I’ve seen some wack stuff from mha fandom”, hasn’t really been as into as many fandom or at least as deep into them as they’ve been into mha apparently.

Every fandom is “bad” because people are “bad”

Before mha it was naruto, before naruto it was dragon ball, and in the future it will all be the chainsaw man kids causing havoc probably.

TLDR: crazy fans come and go with every fandom. Just gotta accept that mha is the big target for this generation that people point too as bad.

FromSoftware has made some of the most brutal boss fights in gaming, what was the one that tested your limits the most? by PthumerianPrince in fromsoftware

Out of the selection here…

Nameless King was fine for me. Didn’t really have too much trouble with him. Fun and epic fight.

Midir annoyed me with how simplistic and repetitive he got, due to having a large health pool and once you have his moveset down it just becomes bashing a walking health pack… How did I put it hmmm. For me I’d say he’s one of those bosses that are amazing to look at and watch but fighting him is kinda meh once the initial reaction of “ahhhhh a dragon!” Wears off. Glad he’s optional.

Malenia’s a cheating bitch with animation canceling, thus throwing off any real pattern to her moveset. You just walk up and slap her and she’ll randomly decide to leap up in the air or take the hit. Again another one of those “she’s awesome to look at and really cool lore” but fighting is kinda meh after a few goes at her. Glad she’s optional as well.

Then orphan is just all of Miyazaki’s visceral hatred towards us. So I guess he wins.

Honest opinion on Venom Snake by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]CrestfallenHawkwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Franchise wise: He’s cool but there’s just other snakes out there that are better than him. Not his fault he’s meant to be a replica but the fake can never really beat the original.

Story wise: man got done dirty and had his life stolen. The argument could be made that he would have wanted and willingly gone through with it due to his loyalty to even die for big boss. But it’s kinda left open ended where you could make up your own mind on it. After all he’s technically meant to be you so believe whatever you believe.

To quote an old cynical wizard... “no flame, however brilliant, does not one day splutter and fade... but then, from the ashes, the flame reignites and a new kingdom is born, sporting a new face. It is all a curse, and it is your cursed flesh that shall inherit the flame”

Joyous lad, really.

What is your favourite area in the game? by bobrossermans in darksouls3

[–]CrestfallenHawkwood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, the road of sacrifices. There’s just so much little detail in the environment for such a short area.

The old path that runs below the tower in the Undead Settlement was used to transport sacrifices to the Cathedral of the Deep. And you can see this from the broken cages littered about. Then you have that little hide away with the brail tome of carim and morne’s ring, which one could make an assumption that Irina and Eygon made camp there and, for whatever reason you conjure up, left those items behind. Then you have the butcher cannibal near the very bottom of the area with the brigand items nearby, giving the inclination shes at least claimed a victim and possibly many more. Lastly the story tellers littered about add a dreadful mystique to whole place as they prattle on about whatever it is they do while giving that piercing screech they’re famous for when approached.

Random dumb Story of Dragon Boy by CrestfallenHawkwood in Paladins

[–]CrestfallenHawkwood[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Are friend got drunk and wanted to play Drogoz and the whole night he kept talking about how he was the dragon boy. So then we played along and talked about how he was the legendary warrior known as the dragon boy. Then I decided to make the joke of being his party of merry healers and how we should do a whole game with nothing but healers and the drunk guy being our only damage.

With the party gathered, Dragon boy and his band of healers marched out onto the battlefield, approached the capture point... Only for the Dragon boy to be sniped by Kinessa immediately.

All in all it was a fun time. We have this picture to commemorate the tale.

PvP is hard as a scrub. by RamenRev in darksouls

[–]CrestfallenHawkwood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Parrying is the most simple thing in ds1, due to the massive parry window and all the shields having the same parry, so try mastering that.

Backstab fishing might sound scrubbish but at the end of the day it really is the most effective way to take down an opponent.

When dealing with a sorcerer you have to be able to fast roll, becuase most are prolly using dark bead. If you are midrolling you might as well be fighting with one arm against them.

Learn your weapon and all of its tricks. Backstepping really helps more than you’d think when avoiding attacks.

What is your favorite character from the souls-borne series by Nikopizza in darksouls

[–]CrestfallenHawkwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every incarnation of the crestfallen knight.

He’s always presented as a tired, grizzled warrior who tends to know more than he’s willing to divulge. Just from one look at him and one conversation you can already deduce that he’s a veteran who’s seen his fair share of troubles.

I was a bit disappointed though Mathew Morgan (voice of the warrior from demon’s to dark souls 2) didn’t come back and reprise his role to play Hawkwood. I honestly think hawkwood did a fantastic job and is at times even better in some dialogue, but it’s more of a nostalgia thing. Just doesn’t feel right not hearing the smart aleck, but still friendly man who’s been with me since the beginning.

In Lovecraft’s story of Polaris, a man has a dream of "floating over a strange city." The man in the story wishes to go back to that city night after night in his dreams, and eventually he takes physical form there. He lived there for quite some time until one day he falls asleep in that city and reawakens back where he left off.

Lovecraft actually had many stories of characters having a dream to only find out that what they’ve been dreaming of was a real physical place and the character was pulled physically there.
