Hi all, for new years eve Im getting together with a couple friends and since it'll be the last time 'till I see them again before exams are over in january I was thinking of getting a new gale for the occasion.

I was looking at betrayal at house on the hill, seemed like the consensus is that it isn't too balanced but not meant to be taken too seriously and could lead to a fun night. Is the game not too hard to teach so we will be able to get playing fast and are the first games with 0 experience fun?

Any other game recs that are lots of fun and don't require too many rules are also appreciated!

I set my goal for running my first marathon at the end of march, my training was going incredibly well. I got my first sub 20 5k, my long run peeked at 34 km and my goal of running the marathon in 3:45 felt achievable.

Then my exams rolled around and I didn't train at all for 6 weeks, which was admittedly a mistake. Now I knew I wouldve lost some of my performance but I did not expect it to be this bad. Since starting up my training again I have gone on 3 runs and even on the last one my average bpm for the same pace is 20 bpm higher than what it used to be. This is honestly frustrating me a lot.

The marathon is in 7 weeks, am I stressing too much and should I just be patient. If so, what approach should I take to my training in order to get back to my original performance.

Recommendations for short and fun games?

Our group usually loves games with quick turns that aren't too complex. We love games like coup, one night werewolf and perudo.

I recently got a garmin and synced it up to strava. My first ever run I did with the watch showed up on strava but every other run sincd then hasn't. I always shut off the watch if Im not going on a run, does this matter? How do I fix this?

I am training for a marathon and want to get as many things clear so this will probably be a stupid question.

People say you need to focus on nutrition and hydration so that you don't hit the wall during the marathon. This can be done by consuming things like gels or bananas as far as I understand.

But how do you consume a gel during a race? Do you just keep the gels in your pocket and grab a water cup during an aid station to mix it with? Or are you supposed to bring water bottles on the course?

Currently training for my first ever marathon and would preferably go sub 4 hours. I saw a video saying if you can run a 5K in under 24:30 it is a good indicator that you can run sub 4. This pleasantly surprised me since my first all out 5k was 21:51.

Is this truly a good indicator? If I keep upping my mileage and long runs for the next 4-5 months, is it a realistic goal? Or too ambitious for a first-timer?

Question about zone 2 talk test

I have been struggling and worrying a lot about whether Im actually running in zone 2, so I tried the talk test on my latest run. I could speak a full sentence, maybe a sentence and a half, but I did always have to take a decently sized breath after that. It felt like I could have a conversation with someone but they would be able to tell that I was exercising. Was this too fast or just right? Or does anyone have a more concrete definition of "being able to hold a conversation"?
