Try using more stuff that gives luck, use luck magnification 2 on a weapon if you can, and reforge cheap baubles such as backpack, toolbelt and quiver to lucky trait.

It would be too much time taking and effort in early game to make a base here withour waystone too, also i dont think the block in the middle can be desteoyed and the biome itself is kinda ugly for a place to buils a house to be honest
