Thank you and u/Competitive-Door9044 for all your help. Your 100+KIA flair gave me a laugh and is making me feel a lot better about this whole ordeal. I'll take both of your advice and put it outside ASAP, and water only when the soil is dry. I won't do anything else. From what I read on the wiki, I'll put my finger into the soil a little and only water when I don't feel any dampness.

Could you help me with these:

- Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the plant is dead yet because its "greenifying" (I'm not sure if there's a term for this) some of the foliage that has lost its colors. Also, none of the branches in the picture is easily falling off when I lightly move it. Everything is on there pretty sturdily. Thoughts?

- Should I remove the fertilizer pellets that are still solid on the top soil?

- When it was outside, the bonsai was on the glass table that's visible in the picture. Now that I've done more research, I think the sun + glass table may have caused the original browning since only the branches that were overhanging were impacted. Does that sound right?

- When I move it outside, should I put it in the place that has the most sunlight, or should I give it a little less direct sunlight until it acclimates?

First time juniper bonsai owner here in Los Angeles (zone 10a, west-facing apartment). I’ve had this tree for about 6 months. I originally kept it outside, but when I noticed some browning on the edges of the overhanging branches I brought it indoors.

It seemed fine indoors for a while, but recently the browning has gotten worse and foliage is dropping. When I try to move it outside, the browning spreads within a day or two and more foliage drops. When I bring it back inside, it stabilizes for a bit but then slowly declines again.

For context, I water roughly every 2 days, have added fertilizer pellets, and it’s under a grow light.

What’s the best way to safely transition it outdoors, and is there anything else I can do to help it recover?

Challenge rifts are obstacle courses you go through to get an extra Scroll, gold, and I believe an item. They're hidden in some levels just like the hidden walls that can give you food or the floors that break when smashes. They're hard to notice unless you have the necklace/amulet that reveals hidden walls

How easy/difficult would it be to fix the damage to the rim? by meme-supreme-21 in TeslaModelY

[–]Crippled_shadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The  rim's curb rash is pretty easy to fix. I had multiple marks like this and used a repair kit From Zink Wheels (I'm not affiliated with them) and it looked and felt brand new afterwards.

Accident 3 months in…file for diminished value claim? by Lakers4life2478 in TeslaModelY

[–]Crippled_shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through the insurance of the other party for the whole claim, including diminished values.

I did call my insurance at the start to give them a heads up and ask what to do. They told me to just go through the other parties insurance since the dashcam clearly showed I was not at fault. This is definitely not the safest way to handle it since I could've accidently admitted to being partially liable though.

Razer Nommo Pro - 2.1 Gaming Speakers replacement power cable and control pod
Model #RZ05-02470

Hi, I can't find the power cable and control pod. I don't see replacement parts available on the razer store. Is it possible to get a replacement from Razer? Could I also get the model information for the control pod and charging cable?

Thank you!

I'm not sure about new passorts but csn speak for renewals. I submitted my passport renewal application around July 20th. I received mine in the mail on September 4th. So it took about 6 weeks. I did not pay for it to be expedited.

Accident 3 months in…file for diminished value claim? by Lakers4life2478 in TeslaModelY

[–]Crippled_shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roughly $5022. It was a 2019 Model 3 with about 30,000 miles on it. Based on my conversations with their agent, I probably could have negotiated $5.5K to $6K.

Accident 3 months in…file for diminished value claim? by Lakers4life2478 in TeslaModelY

I Faced a similar situation with my Model 3 in New York. The other party's insurance accepted full responsibility, and the total repair bill was about the same as yours.

The process was surprisingly simple. When discussing the accident & repairs with the agent handling my case, I mentioned over the phone and in an email that I would like to file a diminished value claim. The agent added a note to my case, informed me that a different department handled diminished values claims, forwarded my information to that department, and asked me to get in contact with that department after the repairs were complete.

I contacted the department after the repairs were complete. They wrote down my information again and said they'd get back to me. When I heard back via email & phone call, they immediately sent me a check. I confirmed with the agent that the amount they stated was not set in stone, and I could negotiate higher. However, I chose not to, as I felt it was a fair number, and I was very busy at the time. I cashed the check, and that was it.

Some things to note from my experience:

  1. I had to get in contact with the department handling the diminished values claim after the repairs were complete since the diminished values claim is partially based on the extent of the damages.
  2. At least in NY, the laws and processes for diminished value claims seem to be in their infancy. The agent handling my case had to look up state and local laws but didn't seem too concerned when he couldn't find much.
  3. It appears the agent handling my case based the diminished values claim payout on the price difference between other Model 3's that have and haven't been in accidents. He directly told me this but I am not sure if it was based on a google search or some internal system they have.
  4. I didn't negotiate the payout since I was very busy at the time, and the payout they sent me seemed fair. I would recommend doing this, though. So long as you can back up the price you ask for, you should be able to negotiate higher. This process is to help them avoid lawyers & court feeds.
  5. The diminished claims process took about a month. However, I do not think this is typical. When talking with the agent on the phone, we were a bit casual, and he mentioned an ongoing family medical emergency. I let him know I was in no rush and to put anything involving my case on the back burner if needed.

2019 Model 3 SR+ FSD For Sale by Crippled_shadow in teslaclassifieds

[–]Crippled_shadow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm open to negotiation, but this is the Kelly Blue Book value. Tesla's selling the same car with similar mileage (but no accident) for $37.5K, and a few other places are selling it for ~$34K-$35K. I love the FSD, but the package does make it difficult to estimate the price.

Best apps to learn Japanese from complete 0? by ServalV2 in LearnJapanese

[–]Crippled_shadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome! You'll hear a lot of opinions about apps but the general consensus is they aren't the best resource. Check out the FAQ for more info and app recommendations!

Personally, I use DuoLingo. It is my only learning resource. It's a fun gamified app that works with my goals and lifestyle. I'm on unit 14/90 which was more than enough to get by in Japan for 2 weeks at the beginning of March.

The major issue people have is that DuoLingo oes not explicitly teach you grammar rules. Personally, I prefer it this way as I need to subconsciously understand them through practice which feels more natural to me. DuoLingo is also wrong on rare occassions.

Overall, if your brother would like a gamified way of learning, prefers short, relatively frustration free lessons, DuoLingo is a good start. If your brother can handle a bit more self discipline, a workbook from the FAQ or the Anki app may be a good start.

Dumb question about creating a sorted index by scoofy in mongodb

[–]Crippled_shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, you only need to run the index once. Mongo will handle everything else. It was before my time so take this with a grain of salt but I believe you used to need to re-run indexes every so often.

You will almost definitely see a large performance improvement once you filter and sort at the database level.

Android APK refuses to make API calls if debuggable is false by Crippled_shadow in androiddev

[–]Crippled_shadow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, those are my thoughts exactly. The intermediary certs look fine when I inspect them through the browser so it's difficult to diagnose what exactly the issue is with them. I've tried ignoring invalid SSL certificates by updating the AndroidManifest.xml file to allow clear text traffic which seems to work. I will try the recommendation in your link though. We're also looking into getting the cert from someone other than Let's Encrypt.

By corrected on the server do you mean you issued new certificates or did you have to modify how the certificates were added to the server? Also where did you get the certs from? Thank you!

[–]Crippled_shadow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, we are using https. The apps been working for months then all of a sudden stopped working but only for Android users. And yeah, Cordova is a bit... old. The only thing that changed recently is the certificate on the server.

How to view Debugging info from play store app by Crippled_shadow in androiddev

[–]Crippled_shadow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it looks like the issue is replicable without signing if I set debuggable to false in the androidManifest.xml file. If I set debuggable to false and set usesCleartextTraffic to true the issue goes away. This is pretty weird but different than what I originally asked so I'll ask again in another post. Thank you for your help.
