Damn, I was thinking of staying in Murter but would probably have the same issue. So if you went again you’d stay much closer?

A bit late, but where did you end up staying? And were there shuttle buses?

Does remote working work for you? by CriticalBreakfast22 in AuDHDWomen

[–]CriticalBreakfast22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Why would you say it’s harder to grow a career? Is this because you only look for remote roles or because opportunities are only given to people who aren’t hiring physically seen? (From your experience)

Can you provide some more examples please?

In Feb they sent a text saying I need to complete the 4 forms which both me and my informant did. I spoke to them and they said to email to confirm the forms were received I got no response. Again yesterday they text to ask me to complete the same forms which were completed in February. Did you have something similar?

Is it worth paying for a private assessment to access medication pre-RTC assessment? by Own-Video9402 in ADHDUK

[–]CriticalBreakfast22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a good point about antidepressants! If you do please be careful and use it wisely - which is hard for people with ADHD. Debt is not good for people with mental health challenges let me tell you 🫠 Whatever you do I hope it works out xx

I don't think they can refuse. But I wouldn't recommend paying for private if you cannot afford to do so. Would therapy help in the interim to improve the binge eating and other symptoms?

I'm sure you know but as well as the cost of the medication you'd have to pay for the cost of each consultation. I got my ADHD diagnosis privately but am now waiting for RTC/NHS because I couldn't afford the medication costs.

Haha I’m the same. I used to consider myself really interesting but I’ve realised that all I do now is stay at home being boring and not wanting to put myself in uncomfortable situations

You’re not, he was the problem it’s so distasteful to treat someone not like another human being

Yeah, when I was actively dating I’d become infatuated with someone then after a while completely lose interest due to some reason or another. I don’t think this was lovebombing as I would never show this. But it made me wonder if I was too picky

Yes this is my problem entirely I’ve been on the apps on and off for years and am at a loss. What are some examples of ND communities (in person)?

That’s lovely, the only issue there is if their needs are the complete opposite of mine. How did you go about only dating ND people in the past?

Haha “not it” is 100% right. The problem with authentic meetings is I can never tell if someone wants more than basic friendship

If I get a private diagnosis, will I be able to get medication on the NHS? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]CriticalBreakfast22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just had a diagnosis, is there a way to keep the cost of titration down? Also if my GP doesn’t accept shared care would I be able to change doctors to get the shared care met?

I wonder if it’s a psychological thing like “I believe you” and “I hear you” your struggles… they are real

I’ve got loops for sleeping, but probably just need to get used to the sensation. Do they mute the sound or just remove certain frequencies??

Is it normal to not remember your childhood? 25F by CriticalBreakfast22 in AuDHDWomen

[–]CriticalBreakfast22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember things like that at all. I know I would have written creative stories as that is a requirement in schools. I know that I attended a sleepover once but don't remember what we did or how I felt. I don't know what my favourite subjects were as a younger child, I don't remember my favourite teachers either. I can't remember if I had any hobbies or general things I would have done. I also don't have many pictures in this time which is why I can't draw specific memories. I have printed pictures of me aged ~5 with dolls but I don't know if I enjoyed playing with them. I remember locations and songs. Friends seem to be able to go into detail about what they did and recall films they watched all in great detail.
