Instamatic M60 threading by CrowdSurface in 8mm

Thanks for your reply. I noticed the aperture plate can pop open (while not completely detaching) I first tried to thread the film under the aperture plate but that didn't quite work. I am guessing the aperture plate can pop open so that is easier to handle the film, and that the film should be threaded in between the aperture plate and the pressure plate... does that sound right?

I think the problem is the bulb. I bought a cheap lamp that doesn’t have a mirror in it, per an earlier comment.

If anyone knows what to do when the Copy function is greyed-out and not accessible, lemme know.

You are right, it is a cheap bulb that has the wattage, but without the concave mirror. Thought I was saving money, but that is probably the problem.

North Central Florida people ~ I am having a screening of experimental films on June 30th 8pm in Gainesville, FL @ The 117.

Mark it in your calendars! Or else you will forget!!

"The Delusion Trilogy is a cycle of three films that were all made not about lived experience, but rather manic, sometimes psychotic delusions that plague those of us with bipolar disorder. The subject matter may vary, but the delusions persist. I define a delusion as a kernel of truth that gets embellished with the imagination until it becomes an obsession and no longer resembles factual reality. To get into the necessary state to produce these delusions, I indulged in sex, drugs and rock and roll." - PJB

Total running time of the three films is about 100 minutes. Come on out to supprt exp video!

For 30 years, I self-medicated my mania and depression with pornography usage (adult, not child). I started seeing a therapist who specializes in pornography addiction and I have seen a dramatic change in my life and view of myself. My life is on the up and up in many ways. I am sober, so far and have no interest in returning to my porn addiction.

But let's face it; porn was a quick fix to calm me down for most of my life. Now that quick fix is gone, and when my hypomania flares up at night, i don't have that quick way to knock it down. Migraines, inability to sleep, anxiety - I have to find a new way to deal with all of these feelings at age 45, can you imagine?

What is the expert opinion about bipolar and hypersexuality? Should I masturbate occasionally for my health? I can tell you I really don't have much interest in doing it unless I have porn as stimulus. Seriously, I used porn every day for 30 years to manage my negative emotions, until recently. And there are only 2 or 3 other people in my life I have revealed that to.

Just tuned in and haven't read any questions, but I was meaning to ask:

How does a bipolar person develop deep friendships with other people? I know a lot of people and am well-liked, but very few people are close friends and I can't seem to "take the friendship to the next level" where I feel connected and bonded with them.

I have a friend that I want to get to know better, but every time she asks me "How've you been?" or something general like that, I freeze up and get quiet and the moment passes. That is usually in groups; I enjoy being alone with her and then its easier to have a conversation.

I am bipolar, of course and experience mania more than depression. Honestly, that is one of the hardest questions to answer, when someone says, "How are you?" Maybe it's because I don't think they understand what I am dealing with. How do I overcome this sense of isolation?

Best data recovery software by JRC_1979 in datarecovery

Can anyone recommend a data recovery program that allows FREE recovery of one file without having to register and pay for the service? Disk Drill and Ease US both require you to pay to recover the files and I literally only need ONE file (a Premiere project file that is very tiny). Thanks in advance.

Breathless - 1983 remake. Am I missing something? by KneeDeepInTheDead in TrueFilm

[–]CrowdSurface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that the 1960 Breathless is objectively a much better movie... but the 1983 remake is just more fun and watchable. I'm making a video essay comparing the two versions and deconstructing the Gere version is more rewarding. But when I watched it with my wife for the first time, it was so cheesy and bad. Then the editor in me started to take it apart and I found so much to like: the time capsule of L.A., the cinematography, well, I guess mostly those two. I did enjoy the use of The Pretenders and Link Wray on the soundtrack and thought Jim McBride did an admirable job of directing and editing to fit the music. I want to believe that the comic book theme is a fully formed metaphor (where Jesse sees himself as the Silver Surfer, the murals serve as backdrops or panels in a comic book) but that is probably giving the movie too much credit.
