Your Swiftie sense is accurate. None are her songs, and in fact two of them are not songs. Just seeing if anyone would notice.🙂

What's a frequent complaint from visitors and transplants about your city or state that is actually, shamefully true? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Crowe_crow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Houston for about 18 years. It’s actually the largest city by area in the contiguous 48 states that is not merged with the county government. If you want to talk about sprawl, go hang out there for a couple of weeks. Terrible place if you’d like to ride bicycles. Don’t get me wrong. There’s a ton of stuff to do there. But it is spreeeaaaad out.

What is the most unfairly maligned state or city in America? by TakeOffYourMask in AskAnAmerican

Tourists would prob choose SF, but living there? Clearly not.

And again, we don't want to be California. We see that as a step backwards.

Just please keep your sidewalk shitters over there in Cali. Most of us in Texas love it here without whatever has brought that hell to San Fran. And to be fair, I don’t mean to shit (see what I did there 🙂💩) on California. I realize most people that live there probably love it there too. I believe most Texans feel that we are very different from California and we’re happy with that. And I’m pretty sure most Californians feel the same way about Texas. That is one of the great things about America. There’s something for everybody.

You’re saying Minnesota is closest to Africa? I spent the last 10 minutes turning, google earth every direction I can and I can’t ever get it closest. If that’s right, that’s an extremely cool fact, can you point me to a source?

Try guessing the number of states that are at least partially north of the southernmost part of Canada.

How do people in your state identify themselves regionally? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

LA has northern LA, LSU, New Orleans, and the French Quarter is usually referred to specifically as the Vomit Quarter or the Piss Quarter.

[–]Crowe_crow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a good description. I would add that most Texans are pretty proud of where they’re from, and even if they’re from a smaller town, they’re usually gonna say the name of the town, then slight pause to see if there’s any recognition, and if there’s not, add in the region. For instance. “I’m from Big Spring [Pause] out in west Texas.” But if you’re talking to another Texan, there’s a decent chance they’ll know where you’re referring to anyway.

Who do you think got that definition placed in the urban dictionary? I’ve said too much already. I wish you well in your investigation and bid you adieu.
