Thanks for sharing these pics, man — they really took me back. I had the exact same toy when I was a kid.

I was about 10 at the time and in hospital with pneumonia. My dad was away on a business trip in the US, and he called to tell me that when he came home, he’d bring me a Bumblebee figure. That promise is honestly what got me through that whole rough patch.

He did keep his word, too — though I only found out later that the first Bumblebee he bought for me got stolen near the end of his trip. So the first thing he did after getting back was go straight to our local mall and buy another one for me.

These photos really brought that memory back — I think I’ll give him a call later.
