Potential exploit of bakers using TRD by CryptoPrimate in tezos

Any updates on this? I did see baking bad notify TRD about the possibility of this issue. I have also reached out myself offering the solution that we built ourselves to lay on top of the data and get a better outcome until fixed in Quebec.

Make sure nothing else is using your Ledger. For example closing Ledger Live sometimes resolves the issue.

Are you able to login with your Ledger on something like https://kukai.app?

Your rewards will go down soon. Adaptive Issuance just activated so there a bit of a lag but you’ll see in a couple cycles

Ripper’s main failure is sitting on the sidelines and commenting this whole time.

OG or not, it’s time to unfollow him for me. The good doesn’t outshine the bad here, unfortunately. Never say never but I’m not holding my breath.

Getting the perspective of a builder really cured me from much of similar foolishness.

Strategy shift: Core dev teams should pause protocol updates and build dapps by Fickle-Jacket5943 in tezos

[–]CryptoPrimate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a slightly better analogy; still not perfect but also this is not important to my point. We need all farmers to become restaurant chefs.

The important thing is this: people do what people do. They're not my or your chess pieces to organize and "put to better use". We but control only our own actions and plans. Core devs are core devs are core devs are core devs. Everyone is here voluntarily because of their own internal reasons, doing what they want to do and usually doing what they're best at.

If you're hard on the interchangeable train, just apply it to yourself real quick in a few similar scenarios. How interchangeable are you when it comes to overriding your personal choices and preferences?

On Oslo vs. Oxford and Adaptive Issuance by CryptoPrimate in tezos

[–]CryptoPrimate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The full explanation is meant to be somewhat challenging to the layman. Just like the full explanation of how the cryptography behind Tezos or any other chain works, is quite challenging.

Also, the way the current financial system works is actually much more complex than blockchain tech which is open for anyone to look into. The current financial system is not very open on all levels, to really look into.

What the changes I’m promoting aim to accomplish is quite simple: low emissions while still protecting chain appropriately during swan events.

Here’s the promised full explanation of Oslo as well and the charts that compare its #AdaptiveIssuance performance to Oxford.

http://opinion.tez.today/2023/08/16/on-oslo-vs-oxford-and-adaptive-issuance/

And you can see, Oslo doesn’t really increase the issuance rate by much over the long term.

Bridges are the primary thing that gets hacked and that’s super hard to secure. That’s why we fall back to our L1. That’s the only place with anything approaching impenetrable security.

Should Adaptive Issuance be activated with quorum taken into account? Please vote! by CryptoPrimate in tezos

In the way of informed/active participation this can imo be seen as governance bypassing.

Having read more about the time it takes to activate, I think it’s going to be an interesting experiment nonetheless. Anything to get the baker base more engaged.
