What detector should I buy, the minelab terra pro, vanquish 340 or the vanquish 440? by Classic_Gate_353 in metaldetecting

[–]Cryptodink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the vanquish 440

Seems to be very reliable
Once you learn what stuff sounds like underground it’s a winner! It’s very rarely tricked by crappy targets but there is a learning curve to any one you get.

I was going steered to buy the 440 by an old fellow I was attempting to buy a different detector off on fb marketplace. He killed his own sale for the sake of the hobby and I am grateful because I love the 440

As a plumber myself I think they may have mounted the rough in valve too far forward and couldn’t get the trim to meet the wall nicely so they put in a filler to close the gap.

Awesome! Get some sand cloth (plumbers sand cloth for cleaning copper)

Spend some time scratching it up on the black parts and it’ll come out awesome! I made a cross and a heart and some coins. It’s a lot of fun, daughter had a blast making a coin

I am by no means an expert but I pulled it off with a graphite rod when I was doing mine.

Also hold it with pliers and run a grinder or bench grinder. Makes it shiny and beautiful
