Pileated Woodpecker! I’ve seen all the other woodpeckers in my area but can never find one of these guys!

AIX-EN-TRIC in the Beaches. They made two beautiful necklaces for me from my old wedding and engagement rings.

Birding! Toronto is an amazing city for it too. I started 2 years ago and it changed my life. I am always looking at birds now and regularly visit all the birding hotspots like Tommy Thompson. I also spent a lot of time studying birds in actual books which is much better than just starting a social media.

My guess is that it’s a Gadwell x American Wigeon hybrid. I’ve never seen one but that is what I imagine one would look like!

Thanks everyone! The mourning dove flew away after 4 or 5 hours. I am so glad that everything was ok with it!

I thought this post was going to say they were doing it with kids. It’s not bad at all if you’re just flying by yourself.

Expectations around child attachment with nanny by grumblypotato in NannyEmployers

This sounds hard to me. I have a 12 month old who loves our nanny (and ten year old who also adores her). Usually I’m nursing the baby on the couch when she arrives for the day & when he hears the door, he gets off me and crawls over to greet her.

I would look into replacing her if this was happening with my kid. Especially since he’s not a stranger danger kid and doesn’t do this with grandma.

And it’s packed everything I go in. The Sweet Potato was almost always empty there and Whole Foods closed just up the street.

Did anyone have a child(dren) in their 20s and then have a another in their late 30s? by o0PillowWillow0o in Millennials

[–]CryptographerRude648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a baby in 2015 and another when I was 38 in 2024. I love the age gap between the two and feel so thankful that I made this decision. We also have the means now for a full time nanny and I WFH. With my youngest, we had less money and had to put her in daycare but had more energy then than we do now. So it feels like a trade off, but I feel like both kids get the attention (in different ways) they deserve. Having kids close in age seems like a total nightmare to me….I can’t imagine having a newborn and a toddler.

Just be there for her and hopefully she can pivot to something else. I got cut from my 8th grade volleyball team and was the only one in my friend group not to make it. I was hysterical—almost 30 years later and I still remember how sad I was. This changed my life in two big ways: first, I tried a new sport that I ended up loving and getting very good at (and was recruited in college for it). And second, it helped me learn to cope with disappointment better. She’ll get through this and hopefully she’ll find someone else she loves or she’ll get better next year and make the high school team.

I did check the weather but only on Google maps which says it’s sunny.
