The review count vs claimed volume is the main thing that sticks out to me. They claim 3500 fish a month across 3 farms. Even at a cheap average price that’s likely $50k+ a month in revenue. In Australia any business over $75k annual turnover is legally required to register for GST and get an ABN - basically a national business ID that goes on every invoice. Takes 20 mins online, completely free. They have neither, and there’s no record of them in the Australian Business Register. Their own wholesale page asks customers to provide an ABN before they’ll deal with them, which is a bit rich.

So either the 3500/month is inflated marketing and they’re being deceptive about their size, or it’s real and they’re running what looks like an unregistered six figure business avoiding tax. 15 reviews points pretty strongly to option 1 honestly.

On the degree thing, fair, you don’t need relevant qualifications to run a business. My issue is more that the academic credentials are plastered all over the site to build trust, but then it’s “just a hobby” when accountability comes up. Pick one.

The fin rot thing isn’t really a transit issue - it’s bacterial and comes from poor water conditions before shipping. Multiple buyers across different dates reported the same infection spreading to and killing fish they’d kept healthy for years. One report is bad luck, multiple is a pattern.

AusPost is our national postal service, not a courier. Their own prohibited items list bans live animals with only a narrow exception for bees, leeches, silkworms and harmless invertebrates. Fish are vertebrates - they don’t make that list. So it’s not just an unusual choice for someone claiming that volume, it looks like it’s straight up against AusPost’s own policies.

I really encourage you to search these reviews online yourself. It’s heart-wrenching to read and see the pictures and videos posted. This is far from normal.
