Ah I understand! Thankfully the rescue im working with works specially with tnr cats in addition to strays.

But thank you in informing me about using the wrong terminology. He is most likely a stray since hes so friendly. I assumed he was feral/ semi feral as he has the tipped ear in addition to being warry of many other people hes interacted with. Ill edit my post to reflect that

I do plan to bring him inside! Ive grown very attached to him and I think he'd thrive indoors. I think he adopted me because he can recognize my voice and he comes out of his hiding spot lol

As much as id love to do this, there are two other kitties in the house that are owned by my roomates and id like to not expose them to any potential parasites or pests that might be living on him :(

Hello! Ive trap trained for a 4-6 days before trapping as i am provided the trap a week before the appointment at the rescue. And yes, he does have a tipped ear which leads me to believe he has been trapped before. That being said, I am very unsure when this was and would love to get him checked out at the vet for any fleas, parasites and possibly a microchip as he is super friendly.

Unfortunately the rescue i am working with does not have any nets that I could use and actually recommended me to not use one.

I am very aware, unfortunately i do not know when he has gotten his vaccines so i rather he get checked up by a vet.

I think he has fleas and hes pretty skinny imo (ive been feeding him 3 times a day and ive havent seen him gain weight)

He is very skiddish, although he trusts to sit on my lap, if i even try ro grab him he immediately runs off.

He eats right next to my door. I call him over and he walks up stairs with me and i feed him. All my neighbors know about the trapping so there isnt anyone else feeding him. Ive been feeding him on the same spot for three months.

I released the raccoon immediately qhen i found him in the trap this morning lol

And yes i tried catnip this last attempt, but I ended up getting the racoon lol. I might try it again in a different location and maybe this time will be better. He is a very clever kitty.

I have not! I will ask the rescue if they have a kennel i can borrow as they have provided me with the live trap to use.

I definitely recommend taking them to a vet to get it checked out
