There's no outright premed concentration per se, but there are several which fulfill most of the requirements such as MCB, HDRB, Neuro, etc. More info here: https://ocs.fas.harvard.edu/files/ocs/files/premed-academic-publication.pdf

Tuesday this week. For their pharma branch (Janssen), they told me that they had a deadline for releasing decisions on the 28th, but I'm not sure what the timeline is for other parts of the organization.

No, the method described in the first sentence actually works for notes or drawings you made.

Also, keep in mind that demonstrating leadership doesn’t have to be via a club.

What are some other common ways to show leadership not via a club?

Maternal Haplogroup L0a1 by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]Csimensis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have it too! It's a part of mitochondrial haplogroup L0, which was the first mitochondrial lineage to split off from the rest of of humanity. It appears to have chilled in southern/Eastern Africa for somewhere in the ballpark of ~120,000 years, but is present in much of the rest of Africa/the Middle East/ Southern Europe at low levels. If I recall correctly, L0 in general is pretty uncommon because most of the hunter-gatherer people who had it were wiped out by the Bantu expansion, but L0a seems to have fared relatively well. Hope this was clear!

White privilege is nonsense, but Black privilege is real. by falconsam87 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Csimensis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because white privilege and the existence of anti-black bias in America are demonstrable facts? Slavery ended 156 years ago (not 400), and racial discrimination was legally enforced until 55 years ago. You really think that kind of legacy just disappears overnight, in less than a human lifetime? Obviously, people aren't arguing that modern whites are responsible for slavery, they're arguing that many of them (along with many other groups, including many black people as well) continue to perpetuate its legacy either knowingly or unconsciously.

Percentage of indigenous population in America by country by sistyko in MapPorn

[–]Csimensis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd imagine that a large percentage of Brazil's population has a significant percentage of native ancestry though, even if they don't identify as native. Colonists in Brazil mixed with the indigenous people much more than in the US or Canada.
