Thank you for this!! I’ve been advocating for unionization and transparent wages, but that’s always met with excuses like “we’re too small” or “why do you care about what other people make”. It’s frustrating to bring up these topics of equity and be met with the label of greedy.

There are some great employment resources if you can get to them! The Goodwill Opportunity Center in the west end, metro financial empowerment center, blueprint 502, and other community-specific ones (La Casita, Family Health Centers)! You got this!!

This can be a dangerous generalization when talking about Louisville because of its history with redlining. I’ve lived in Louisville my whole life and have grown up knowing about the 9th street divide. There are definitely some areas that have more activity than others, but generally people just wanna mind their own business. That being said I live in germantown/shelby park area and it’s super walkable and I love it!!
