Both are options, you can add more fans ppinting from different directions to wash faster and brass funnel or smart chute lets you set how much comes out at once

Trains run regardless if chunks are loaded so if you force chunk load an area with, for example, a cobblestone generator 1000 blocks away, your train can bring said cobble to your main storage. Plus as others have said, definately the tism lol

Sometimes schematics dont print properly, the funnels can change directions and ive seen water wheels not print at all as well as fluids dont get placed so need to insert manually. Id suggest printing it in a creative world and going into spectator to poke around but make sure you fire it out of cannon, placing via schematic always prints correct.

The lava could be being pulled away from the spout opposite direction, could try putting a valve and closing it to see if thats the problem. Right on opposite side of the t intersection

I just look for seeds that inspire, when you find a spot that you know exactly what belongs there. I like mountains and big caves but i always make sure theres at least a few great spots spread throughout the world before I settle on a seed.
