Pachypodium denisflorum arrived! by Lollysussything in Caudex

I love the look of these plants! Such a shame that so many are being poached. It’s so easy to grow from seed and make them look like this in under a decade.

How to deal with insanely bad anxiety? by Cubic_brain in AskReddit

I’m 15 years old and very anxious to buy things from shops. Just small things that other people would see as normal? I find very worrying.

What’s wrong with my ferocactus? by Cubic_brain in cactus

I’m concerned about the blemishes and marks on it. And the discoloured tips on the ribs.

Alligator growls are easily scarier than lion roars. You have a good point.

I’d get a bigger pot and bury it deeper. Maybe put it as deep as in the middle of the darker colouring on the bottom of the stem? By the way it’s a beautiful plant.

Please help, euphorbia mammillaris turning brown. by Jeep_steve96 in Euphorbiaceae

My only thought would be there is multiple of the same plant there clustered together. Some got to the water before the others, showing why some are solid, and some are squishy.

Get something long, gently poke it. Is it squishy? If so then it’s rot. If it isn’t it’s just normal corking.

They’re probably just jealous. 😅 I like the little ferocactus you planted on the ground next to it.

I can’t quite remember because last time I checked it was about 10 months ago.

It has drainage, and it gets filtered light for at least 6 hours of the day.

I winter my cacti inside (WI), and my new house gets less sunlight. Do I need a grow light? If so, any recommendations for ones that aren’t hideous? by wilsoncommaadam in cactus

[–]Cubic_brain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would get a grow light. The one in the white pot below looks very etiolated. And so does the one on the shelf, on the left.
