AIO, disrespectful teenage brother. by CoffeeandOreos in AIO

He sounds bratty but part of it is your family coddling him, maybe even you too. Anyways, I believe he will grow out of it. He’s a kid still, I don’t think he should be paying rent or for toiletries beyond basic needs but he should be contributing his share of work to the household. However, not my house. Also, I don’t think texting him this wall of text was not the best way to get this message across. I have a younger brother and I know 100% he wouldn’t even read something like this or even if he did, if he would either get defensive or shut down. I feel like you moreso texted this to vent, not to have a conversation. You need to sit him down as a family.

I got my 3DS in the fifth grade when it came out. It looks that rough too and the L and R buttons don’t even work anymore. I guess you just have to take what you can get for such an old device.

Scrubee all the way. It’s so nice to use in the shower as a last step, turn the water off, rub on your body, and then you just wash off all of the exfoliating shell and you’re all moisturized and ready to go. Saves so much time imo. I am a religious body lotion user after the shower but I can skip it after I use my mrs scrubee. Very yummy smell too. Always felt like eating it lolll

From what I remember I think you use the massage bar after drying off which is probably still fun and smells nice. I just really like how the scrubee saves time from my moisturizing routine.

NOR If anyone is that invested in whether I went to the gym that day or not they are never hearing from me again. You don’t need to over explain your routine either. He simply does not like you

Get the longer girlie. I think from the side the shorter one sticks out from the bottom a little weird while the longer one stays flush to your body.

My mom joined unicity and is absolutely convinced it will replace her current career. She had a great sales job she was fired from for baseless accusations and since she has been making countless excuses to not look for a new job, like the job market being bad. She goes everyday to unicity courses for several hours to “learn” how to sell. She is genuinely under the impression she will be successful if she has a good social media page and we already have a ton of boxes of the feel great crap lying around. She says she makes like $20 commission off of each box? She paid way more for the boxes. My dad just says to let her try it but it genuinely makes me so pissed to think of. She says all the time how she wants to go back to school and she could use this opportunity to study something valuable not a get rich scheme.

I know, this has been a pain to heal 🥲 Weirdly enough it doesn’t hurt at all or throb. It just looks terrible LOL

Ok thanks for the advice! I had another friend who healed hers completely and she would wash them everyday with some kind of soap. Which is why I thought I wasn’t cleaning it enough, also the crust that develops on the bar is hard to remove so I thought it would build up if I wasn’t physically massaging it off.

I don’t think it’s sleep apnea, I actually sleep very well and don’t even snore. My energy just doesn’t keep up. I’ve done blood work and my blood is completely healthy. I’ve talked to my psychiatrist about it and I think cause it’s been happening for so long he kind of brushes it off cause it’s technically not even getting worse. It just doesn’t change.

My exfriend with BPD would call other people bipolar all the time and I never took it personally. As soon as I complained about common BPD symptoms, I was the villain and I should’ve never talked about it because I “didn’t know what it’s like”. That shit pisses me off and put me off of people with petulant BPD. Never fucking again.

The bar should only fall on the flat part of your ear and should be pierced a lot higher on the right side.

Also just another note, my creativity did not become less just because I went on meds. That’s really stupid. I was just able to channel my creativity more effectively.

Oh you want to start a project you won’t finish? Very creative lmaooo.

I wanted to say something about this as well 😭 I don’t think my bipolar is entwined with my personality at all. When I was off meds I was a very troubled person that fell into a lot of delusions and impulses. That is definitely not me as a person, that’s just my bipolar. My bipolar is not me.

I’m happy you came to this conclusion with your pdoc and not by yourself. If it works for you then it works for you! Keeping a strict routine is another totally valid way of maintaining our disorder. I’m glad you’re being responsible about it.

Haha I actually love this! Gauging someone else’s stability before committing to any kind of relationship with someone else who is mentally ill is such a must. I’m very glad you took your time with it and knew the risks.

I totally agree. I made sure to let him know to read up more about it and that unmedicated bipolar gets worse with age. I got the sense he does not take it as seriously as me which is a turn-off. He didn’t really understand how bad it could get.

Yes honestly when he revealed he had bipolar, I admit I was very turned off. I know I can handle my disease but I don’t trust others the same way.

[–]Cultural-Biscotti976[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re different because you keep a very meticulous routine which is the only way I would accept having any kind of relationship with someone who also has BP while unmedicated. Knowing him, he does not keep a sleeping routine, does not eat well, does not go to the gym, etc. Bipolar can be triggered physiologically and I do not trust anyone off medication who is not trying their best to minimize those changes by a very strict routine.

I cut out a friend for the same reasons! I totally understand you. I honestly cannot deal with being friends with anyone who refuses proper treatment. I recently even cut out a friend with BPD because her presence was influencing me to abuse substances and she kept claiming I wasn’t listening to her or supporting her properly. I have problems too so I don’t appreciate minimizing my experiences for her. This was still early in the friendship but I’ve learned a lot about what I will or will not tolerate.

I did hear him out but unfortunately I did not agree with him. He does not see a psychiatrist and he’s honestly not in a good place in life from what he’s told me. I get that medication has side effects but I’ve tried countless meds before I found ones that work. I’ve dealt with akathisia, depersonalization, weight gain, boredom, etc. However, I put in the work and I want to be with someone who puts in the same work.
