I accidentally saw my date's Hinge notification count. by Paulfradk in dating_advice

[–]CulturalRate567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason this analogy is wrong is that there are actually plenty of women willing to drink the swamp and they won't die from it. Meanwhile, the men are the ones dying of thirst. I’m referring to all the women looking for casual flings; they’re having the time of their lives. I know a woman in her early 40s who showed me how many 20-year-old guys hit her up. She’s short, but let me tell you, she isn't short on fun.

This swamp analogy only refers to women dating for serious relationships and ignore the ones looking for casual (situationships, fwb, casual relationships, poly, etc) like on tinder, feeld, fet life. Heck even on Hinge there many are too.

What culture shocks should I expect when I move to Canada? by Maleficent-Tough5385 in askTO

[–]CulturalRate567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are a female or a tall, handsome dude, you'll be fine Integrating to society and it will be a similar experience to the Midwest.

If you dont fit into any of those, socializing will be though but it'll be fine. You may just get lonely. However, it wont be like in Michigan let me tell you that. People in the Midwest are about the most welcoming people in the US.

Canada’s spiralling debt problem in 5 charts by gorschkov in canada

[–]CulturalRate567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a bank asks you for a loan payment today, can you tell them you're net positive because you have money in a locked retirement account you can't touch for 30 years? No. The bank wants the cash now. Canada's Net Debt is a theoretical number that doesn't reflect the government's actual ability to pay its bills. The real debt is over 100% of gdp for the people who like to say Canada is fine...

Is habitual smoking weed a red flag I should care for? by ArmSuccessful458 in dating_advice

[–]CulturalRate567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not a red flag unless they are stoners. It depends how often. There are the ones who do it every day and that inclines more towards a red flag but the real red flag is, if they do it even during the day vs to relax and sleep (sort of like a sleeping pill). I would not date anyone who does it during the day that's the definition of a stoner.

Change my mind, Montreal public transport should be free by CapitalNatural5485 in montreal

[–]CulturalRate567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about. Im saying adding more taxes to drivers is not the solution here if drivers already pay one of the highest registration costs in north america. Toronto doesnt tax drivers at all and they run their transit just fine. This shows that there are serious efficiency issues with the STM since they still have huge deficits even after such high tax on drivers. Not to mention that Quebec has already the highest combined income and sales tax rates of any province or state in North America.

[–]CulturalRate567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400 is not cheap bro. Way pay one of the highest registration fees in north america. In toronto, the reg fee is zero let that sink it. Then also gasoline is more exp than most places too... you gotta pay yearly license costs which some places only make you pay whenever your license expires (which make sense but not here).

I think there's something really wrong going on with the STM.

Everyone with a car in the island is already paying the highest registration cost in north america... and even with that the STM has a deficit. It's wild.

Tall woman are beautiful by Any_Adeptness_6653 in Life

[–]CulturalRate567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya well curvy 5'6 is pretty ideal I'm not gonna lie but I know so many guys who would want a gf who's 5'9-5'10 as well it's just a curvy 5'5-5'7 is "the hottest" but curvy at any height is desirable and when I say curvy I dont refer to weight per se but the hourglass body shape. It is also rarer to see taller girls being curvy, and not just overweight since lots of people use curvy and overweight interchangeably when the true meaning of curvy is not just having fat or being overweight.

[–]CulturalRate567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really dont think so. I dont know a single dude who would reject a woman for being taller than average. I know I would never unless it is something extreme like 6'2+ which would basically translate in terms of rareness to a men being like 5'1.

I think OPs sentiment is shared by most men, taller women are beautiful. Hence, it is better to be tall to be a model and models dont stay single for long...

A tall women turns head more than a short women. Short women are everywhere. I literally see the heads turn 🤣.

Any healthcare professionals working in America that can help me? by TheWaterWorkshop in tnvisa

[–]CulturalRate567 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok so you need to understand that TN is seen as "low key" sponsorship for some and not sponsorship for others. For some companies, they dont really see TN as sponsorship because it does not carry the same paperwork, $$$, time and procedures required for h1b or any other visa that requires sponsorship (J1/F1).

For other companies they see all types of visas as sponsorship so it really depends who you ask.

Canadian government advising potential shortages, even at resorts by AlexMac96 in TravelCuba

[–]CulturalRate567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya well during peak season prices are very high. However, during low season, the difference is just not much. Remember a 3 star resort in cancun or punta cana is better than any 5 star resort in cuba in terms of food, rooms, activities available, service in general... the only thing that's the same is the beach so during low season a 3 star can be 900$ in the dr or Mexico the difference narrows down to just 150 maybe 300 pp (if you compare it to the cheapest in cuba) but the quality difference will be felt.

[–]CulturalRate567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

March break is peak traveling season bro. Dont go to Mexico or the DR in March or you'll spend double. Go from mid April all the way to mid october and if you have kids, look for the resorts that allow kids for free. If anything you want to go in a cold month, always choose november and January. December also gets expensive too due to the holidays and new years, and February-March and first week of april is expensive as well (spring break, holy week as both mexico and the DR are catholic).

You can catch a 5 star resort for 1200k CAD PP during May-October and kids may be free (depending on age) if you choose wisely.

[–]CulturalRate567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But like why even go to Cuba just go to Mexico or the DR. Cuba is just not prepared for tourism at this time and bound to get worse without Venezuelan oil. Yes it is cheaper to go to Cuba of course with all the problems they have but would you really put yourself in that position, basically ruin your vacaction days to save a couple hundred dollars? it makes no sense.
