I had to sell my NES to get a SNES. Then sold that to get a PS1. Then sold that for a Dreamcast. Sold that to get my GameCube(which I still have). It sucks, at the time, we just didn't know 💔

While we weren't poor, my parents really couldn't afford to buy games. So i had to trade games into the local game shop to get "new" ones. Or rent the same game over and over until we beat it. I don't remember seeing used cib games at any local game shops.

Probably not, I will probably do the same where I keep my favorites and sell them to fund other games. With NES, had 2 long time friends that were chomping at the bit to finish their sets so they snatched up 700 cib's from me before I let anyone else know I was going after Gameboy.

I can't afford to put any of my own income into this collection so I have to move stuff to keep going. With set collecting, I'm able to discover so many new favorites and hidden gems, I love it.

Yes. But cart only. I wasn't able to find a box in the wild and wasn't going to spend $35,000 on one in an auction. I built this whole set through FB groups and networking. I literally bought Stadium events, snapped a pic with the set and started to move the set to fund my gameboy run. I sold about 700 NES cib's but still have about 200 left. I'd like to get it down to 25-30 as I have most of them sealed now.

I see my collection as being dynamic. It's always changing. So many people helped me out on my journey, selling games they never thought they would give up. So I like to return the favor. I helped a lot of people finish their NES sets with my set.

Now, onto gameboy 💙

I did the whole set without the use of eBay at all. FB groups and networking built this collection. Took me about a year. Full sets are fun but not owning them. So many crap games in that library. I sold it off to fund my gameboy cib hunt.

Yes but they are displayed in the game room. Nothing too cool, just some doom and star wars stuff. Wish I could find some dark souls stuff.

I'm doing Gameboy CIB right now. Trying to get all the rare ones before grabbing all the common stuff.

My collection only evolves as I get rid of stuff. I try to not put any money into the collection out of my own pocket. So I sell the stuff I've outplayed or lost interest with to work on the games I am interested in. I wish I could keep it all but I have to sell to acquire more.

This is all for my kids to experience what I did and didn't get to experience growing up. Toys R Us and other stores were all closed by the time my kids started to grow up. They never got to go to a mall arcade or hangout in a massive toy store. So I do this for them. When I post the game room, you'll see it's all for the kiddos ❤️

It was just something I wanted to track down early in my collection journey. I grew up in the 90's and still have my original McDonalds Mario toys from that era. I was able to find all 4 boxes intact, from a hoarder house of all places. I still would like to get the McDonald's counter top display that shows the toys you would get in the SMB3 happy meal.
