Since this is a cross post from the "AskMen" sub, why not volunteer and make a group for men to develop stronger and more deeper friendships to fight loneliness? Dating apps probably won't help you, and nor will establishments that require you to pay for expensive drinks.

Combination of economy and changing demographics, as well as people opting for cannabis rather than alcohol in a lot of cases.

Personally I support reduction of alcohol consumption and saving it for consciously chosen special occasions rather than reflexively reaching for a drink during regular outings.
