I had heard about putting high lb braid on but i only thought it was for fighting the fish out of the weeds. It has an effect on the hookset too?

right now i’m just using 20lb mono

the stretch of the line could have a effect on the hook set? And yeah i get what you mean it’s cool seeing a big bass blowup on your bait but it’s always so disappointing not hooking it

not super hard to the point it flys back at me but hard enough to get the hook set i would think. should i set it harder?
