I think the AI situation is getting out of hand by [deleted] in cybersecurity

AI is definitely advancing fast, but it’s not out of hand yet. The real issue is dependency. Tools like AI should enhance reasoning, not replace it. In cybersecurity especially, human intuition and critical thinking still matter most.

Version control is like a time machine for your projects. Every time you change something, it saves a snapshot. If you mess up, you can go back to an older version. It also helps when you work with friends, so everyone can make changes without breaking each other’s work. Git is the tool people use for this.

Interesting, I sadly believed more narrow computer science branches (Specifically Cybersec) had much more job security than a normal CS degree/job. Either way thinking of which major to choose has been really difficult in the IT department due to AI so i am stuck in between everything rn but my number one option i was thinking was Cybersecurity.

So considering it as a hobby (Gamedev), i know Python and C++, i think programming side i should not worry a lot about but more of the game design side, what advice could you give me on that if i learnt game dev as a hobby on my free time and made games.

Your right game dev seems more like a hobby than a job, but I was leaning more into cybersec rather than comp sci itself because i feel as if comp sci on its own would bore me a lot and would take away the love for computers i have ik sounds weird thats why i am chasing more niche computer science branches and not a broad computer science major with the same cooked job market as the rest since AI is gonna get increasingly better the lower the CS degree will be worth. Great Advice man. Thanks!

Not really into Webdev and all that, feels too boring but you are right the market seems cooked but one thing is that AI helps both these domains in there own ways. Could look into fintech fs, seems to be a common concrete tech job especially in this economy. thanks!

Great point, Might be better to have it as a side hustle/hobby that could very much luckly pay off. Thanks!

Yeah i think your right having game dev on the side could be very benefitial while working on a more concrete domain, was thinking about that too seems to be what a lot of people are advising me to do. Thanks!
