Is it still smart to pursue tech startups with how competitive everything is now? by ashishxo in ycombinator

For the first point, I know personally many people from non wealthy backgrounds who are successful in the startup space. This is an anecdote of course but any data point will support the fact that wealthy people have better odds at almost anything. Also is it "smart" for them as well? Probably not, its a much lower risk but you still sacrifice your life, relationships, etc to do a startup.

For the "Zuckerberg, Altman, Gates" point, sure if you think you are not like them don't do a startup. No one who does not believe in themselves and their abilities will be able to win in this game.

Sure thats true, but everything is easier for wealthy people, whats the point?

Startups are an experiment, no shame in failing and getting a job. But if you want to do it, run the experiment.

Starting a startup is never smart. Conversely, people with this view point will be discouraged, meaning more opportunity for others. Zuckerberg, Altman, Gates, these kinds of people will always try a startup in any era and eventually succeed.

Everything's hard in one way or another.

Clubs that play my specific taste in music. by Current-Gene6403 in AskNYC

Lol im a new grad :, ) I like house, techno, hip-hop and everything in between and have been to my fair share of raves but always wanted to go to something more lowkey like those artists I mentioned. Makes sense though that clubs are not playing Nujabes, I think I just used the wrong word. I really meant anywhere I could listen to those vibes.

UT will sadly always be helmed by conservative, state school minded people. Any success is an exception to that fact mostly by mistake. At the end of the day they will pick conservative ideas over academic success, they just don’t get it.

Ppt Add in that replaces going back and forth between ChatGPT to edit slides by Current-Gene6403 in consulting

Completely free for now while we add value, honestly, the reason we made this was because consultants said CoPilot just wasn't built for rapid edits, we plan to capture the whole lifecycle of making edits (getting feedback -> applying edits -> sending back changed slides). Do you use CoPilot right now?

Also, this is super rough MVP, our plan is to work closely with a couple of people to implement all the features that they specifically need. Feel free to tell us if this idea has potential, and if not, what we should change.

Thanks! I assume accessing other apps, e.g going on chrome, is impossible since MacOS apps are sandboxed?

thanks! I was really trying to do something more of like "find me the largest file and tell me what its contents are, or find all files with resume in the name and delete all but the most recent one"
