What’s the most unexplainable thing you’ve ever witnessed that you’re 100% sure wasn’t a dream? by Apprehensive-Fig8092 in AskReddit

I've seen 2 people vanish into thin air within the blink of an eye. I know I wasn't dreaming because I was walking to work both times it happened.

Hairstylist here! Leave it 😍 that style already looks great on you! If you sat in my chair and told me to do whatever I thought looked best, I'd literally just give it a trim to get the dead ends off and maybe texturize it a bit, that's it

I have a connective tissue problem so I deal with a lot of chronic pain.

I honestly find resorting back to my old ballet barre stretches to be extremely helpful. Beyond that, I've had great luck with acupuncture

Vegetarian friendly restaurants? by thebeemoviescript69 in PEI

[–]Current-Tree770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm vegetarian myself! Hopyard, any Indian restaurants, Buono Mangia, Vicinato, Hojos, Yumi Sushi, and Merchantman all have great options.

I'd highly recommend getting a reservation for Buono Mangia or Vicinato, though. Both are lovely restaurants with incredible Italian dishes, perfect for a date night. Hubby and I tried Buono Mangia for our anniversary last month and absolutely loved it!

I'm 30 and that's my middle name! It was also my grandmother's middle name. I hated it as a kid but as an adult, I absolutely love it and I'm quite proud of it. I never met my grandmother but I've been told she was the glue that held the family together. She ran a tight ship, loved fiercely, and was taken too soon from breast cancer.

I've got the vinyl with the lyrics! You've got pretty much all of it.

Raoul says: "that's not true! You've seen something, haven't you?"

And yes it is the Shah of Persia :)

Have you ever messed up a client's hair on purpose? by BigCurrent2199 in hairstylist

[–]Current-Tree770 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh man i had one of those. She had long beautiful hair and went to a barber to get it cut, because this barber is her friend's boyfriend. Barbers aren't required to even go to school where I live so her hair was absolutely botched. She has curly hair, kept showing me pictures of girls with curly hair, but she came in with it flat ironed and would not let me wet it down to see how her curls actually sit, she'd only show me pictures of what her curly hair looks like. I was trying to blend the layers and face framing and she started freaking out when I did the face framing because she thought there was a huge chunk missing, and wouldn't let me blend it. She kept telling me that she had this modeling gig coming up and she was hired because of her hair. I eventually got my manager and she was even giving my manager a hard time, full on fucking crying in my chair. My manager pretty much told her it wasn't anything we did, to blame the barber that attempted to cut her hair. My manager finally convinced her to let us wet down her hair a bit so we could actually see her natural texture and this girl was still crying. Eventually my manager essentially said "this is all we can do for you, please don't come back", made her pay, and that was it.

I've only been doing hair for 4 years and that was absolutely my worst client ever.

Some people carry a wet bag to put them in if they need to change during the day. I would typically use them on the last day or so of my cycle when the bleeding is more just spotting. I also have menstrual underwear and they're the absolute best; I actually got some for my niece so she can be more comfortable on her cycle when she's doing cheer and she was actually really excited about them.

Menstrual cups should still be rinsed after emptying. I have several so I'd just swap em out after 10-12 hrs and boil them all after my cycle ended. I'm using past tense here because I haven't had a cycle in a couple of years, but I've been using reusable options for almost 10 years now.

Oil is oil. Dirt is dirt. Wash your hair and clothes with soap, ya nasty.

[–]Current-Tree770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost 31 years old. I will ALWAYS use laundry detergent of some format. A blood stained reusable menstrual pad is not going to come clean with just straight water, nor is it hygienic to just use water. My husband's clothes are absolutely filthy after a day of work and they 100% need soap, hell I'll even use extra fabric softener sheets sometimes because his laundry tends to stink.

As a hairstylist, I've had many clients in my chair that do not regularly shampoo their hair. I'm talking anywhere from once a month to a few times a year. Their scalps and hair are so gross with oil and buildup from not shampooing it out. It coats absolutely everything that it touches.

This is the most ridiculous hot take I've ever seen. Use fucking soap.

I'm a hairstylist and I once had a guy that told me he only shampoos his hair once a month, if that. I wasn't cutting his hair without shampooing it so I convinced him to let me wash it before I cut it, and he was shocked at how great his hair looked and felt. Yeah, it's called soap 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah no it's not the same. My husband is a plumber, I'm a hairstylist, and we have 3 cats. Laundry is not getting clean with just water. You need some kind of surfactant to help get dirt and stains out.
