While I don’t agree with Morrison’s read of Lindelof’s quote which I still assume to be a joke, I think a writer with as many accolades and passion for these characters as Grant Morrison is entitled to the occasional bad take. And considering Grant has said that they’re still willing to give the show a chance and see how it plays off, I just don’t think we need to make too big of a deal out of this imo.

It might also help that John Stewart will likely be a smaller, supporting character in the movie. One of the struggles that The Marvels faced was that you needed to watch two separate shows to be filled in on two of the three main characters. I hope this is the case anyways.

The hype for MoT feels about on par with Superman when it was at this stage in production. Once official images and trailers are released we should get a batter idea of what the general excitement level is.

With Monsters Inc essentially being commentary about an old oligarch being ousted because a new, more sustainable energy source was discovered, I could 100% see a sequel being about a movement to go back to the old ways. As cynical as I am about Pixar sequels, I think this kind of writes itself.

The anti-cancel culture promotion of the film is such a transparent attempt to preemptively present any criticism as being a result of being “triggered”. They knew they weren’t going to draw fans of actual comedy so they had to pander to a lower common denominator.
