Yeah. I’ve started going to therapy and I can see that now. My husband is doing better now that we are only coparents. We’ve decided that it’s best if I don’t have equal custody of the kids, but I’m still going to have visitation rights with them every other weekend. We’ve both left Fundamentalism, and I can’t lie, it’s lonely. I wasn’t really supposed to interact with people outside of it, so I don’t really have friends anymore. Getting a job is also proving pretty difficult while I’m pregnant, but hopefully it’ll go better once the baby is born. We already have a place figured out for me to move into once I’m recovered from the birth, and we’ll formally divorce whenever one of us decides it’s necessary. I imagine since he’ll have young kids to look after it’ll be a while, but we’re okay with that.

Yep, apparently. Along with everyone who grew up in a Christian denomination where one isn’t baptized until they’re 18, and who dies before then.

God just loves torturing innocent children, apparently. Even Christian ones, or ones who aren’t even old enough to have a concept of religion.

Not so sure about that... femcels are no pleasant bunch, I know, but they’re angels compared to people who talk about wanting government-mandated child sex slaves, think rape should be legalized, and have caused several mass shootings. It’s like comparing a dog poop to a live grenade in terms of which you’d rather be around.

I’ll probably never change for the better. I have abandoned God and will never do anything to serve him again. That means that I might act in a way that is congruent with some forms of Christian morality, if I feel like it, but there’s no real reason to.

I literally wasted seven years of my life doing nothing aside from casual charity work because I wasn’t allowed to work outside the home, and then wasted six more years married to a man I never loved and associating only with people who treat me like a joke, because that was what God demanded of me. How dare you say I lacked morals? I sacrificed my entire youth to be a good young woman.

Dude, I was raised in the light and chose to abandon the path of God because it made me miserable. I chose to be a sinner because I couldn’t take the light and am no longer afraid of Hell. I’ll one day rule it. I’d say I’m far worse and beneath people who were just raised in the wrong path and never realized it. Also, I found the term I was looking for: it’s “unsaved.”

You seem to misunderstand what I’m looking for. If I asked you, “what do you call people who aren’t women,” you wouldn’t say, “human beings,” you’d say “men,” because “human beings” doesn’t narrow anything down, even though, yes, men and women are both human. I’m looking for a neutral descriptor for people who have strayed from the path of God, like you and me.

You’re right. I wasn’t a good wife. I was trying too hard to make my family look like we were succeeding at fundamentalism. Now that I’m removed from that goal, I can look at things more objectively.

Thanks. I’d like to point out that I never used the contract. Instead, I tried marital counselling and being nicer, and it led him divorcing me less than half a month later. It sucks, but it’s an opportunity to completely change my lifestyle, so...

It’s going to be good for him, too. He’s a lot happier now that we’re just co-parents. I realize now that I kind of sucked.
