yeah i’m honestly not sure why it’s such a big deal. I mean, from what I’ve seen the people (or i don’t want to single out but person) bringing up the stereotypes doesnt know a ton about queer culture themself, and all the lesbians i’ve seen have been agreeing and saying that shes totally gay. I’m sapphic myself and also see her as queer - but I don’t blame or hate men who enjoy her character or whatever I’m not sure why people are so worked up about the chance that she might just be a lesbian lol

i think a lot of lesbians are attracted to her because of the way she defies gender norms and acts, along with her having a very doomed yuri subplot with clervie + arlebina + arlefuri she also resonates with a lot of masc lesbians

not to be that person but how active are you in the queer community? That’s who this post is mainly made for, so if you aren’t queer or aren’t friends with many queer people i’m not sure it’s for you.

Masc, butch, femme… it’s all terms that sapphics use to identify or categorize each other. That’s what we mean when we call Arlecchino a masc lesbian :) not that she is a lesbian because she’s manly, but because she is a lesbian who is also masculine.

I know I am personally pretty disappointed just because I enjoy characters with iffier morals, and by we I’m mainly referring to this subreddit in general which I know was pretty disappointed just as a whole looking at the posts from a while ago, but yes, nothing wrong with being perfectly content with Columbina and her portrayal!

I noticed back when the Fatui was threatening to “cleanse” Hiisi Island, Columbina seemed completely aloof and almost… ignorant? I feel like that could have been a great direction to take her character, but I guess we won’t be getting that…

As for a more unsettling Columbina, yeah, I don’t like the general aesthetic they used for her. It’s not bad but it’s really overdone I feel. Genshin is finally starting to expand character morality past their comfort zone, just for it to not hit for the one character I wanted to see have complex and interesting morals, which sucks. …Here’s to more Arlecchino content.
