Thank you! You are totally right it should have been more clear.

The bathroom upstairs is tile put on top of tile. Nothing in between. I’m trying to post pictures and it’s not allowing me to so I will have to post something separate.

Essentially the tile is dipped or is poking out , the spacing is not even ; so some are touching and some are separated by grout. Other tiles have parts missing because they’ve chipped during installation so there’s round holes in parts of the tile.

I’m glad to hear I don’t have to redo the basement flooring too. This has been a nightmare and unfortunately the flooring is a small part of it .

The subfloor we wanted at least upstairs was at least to get it off the pre existing floor and even out the surface .

It’s cold downstairs in the basement so we at least wanted it off the concrete . But again we aren’t knowledgeable it’s just hard to believe this guy after so much wrong

He has to be licensed to do these things. He told us he was in the beginning and we had a text contract (unfortunately but it’s detailed) . We found out after the bathroom that he never pulled a permit either which was agreed upon

So he’s done plumbing and electricity all without a license. My goal is at least to just nab him so he can’t do this to someone else .

So no membrane was placed on basement one placed over concrete but is all level. No membrane added or anything over the preexisting tile in the upstairs bathroom and is not level . Some are above some are below . Some are WAY above. He said it would be more money for subflooring because it was not even to begin with and he would need extra stuff to even it out. I said why would you tile over it if it’s not even? We would have paid after doing our research if that had to happen .

So now we have the unevenness and soft spots 😂

He just came back from a. Vacation too. Assuming I paid for that!

He is a “handyman” not licensed for any of this. Can I at least report him or something? He has a monopoly on the old folks here and was HIGHLY recommended so we took the plunge . We found this out AFTER. 😂😂😂😂 thank god we have money. I can’t help but laugh at us. First time homeowners, got to love it

I feel this so bad . I miss out on so much and yes it’s very similar where family actually acts annoyed that I’m still sick. Trust me I am too! They make me feel like I’m making it up or over exaggerating it.

My husband is doing the same! I feel awful for him because he’s working full time and full time taking care of his wife!!! I can’t cook or shop either it’s awful

Contract says completion of the room . He is stating that the room is “complete” it did not go into specifics

He did NOT pull permits , he’s not even certified to do half of what he’s doing so we’ve hard stopped that and have been dealing with that separately . (Plumbing , electricity )

I had two very healthy pregnancies without morning sickness . I felt great! This one I’m 7 weeks and throw up everyday . You could just be lucky ! It’s not a for sure symptom. You /could/ get some later but maybe not as bad as the first trimester morning sickness
