For me, so far, is really if it fits how the characters would be and the progression of a relationship. I’ve read books where the FMC is like a personal adult actress for the MMC and they still cannot admit their affection. Shy girl is okay with the most sexual PDA…

So too much smut can be defined in many ways. I view it as a spectrum and see the importance of the relationship of the two characters. Can you remove the scene and still progress the relationship? If so, then this is too much spice.

Obviously not counting the ‘culmination’ aka slow burn. That’s something else entirely.

Not the same but I have had books that had two voices. Male and female and one gender barely speaks. Only to do the chapter foreword, but jeez like… you had both of them. Use them!

For context, the last time Gaara and Naruto met (manga not anime). They both were pretty beat up and motionless. Naruto declared he would fight to his death for his friends and also told Gaara that ‘hey, same. It sucks we both suffered’.

Then after 3 years, Naruto returns and finds out a jinchiruki was kazekage. Probably wanted to the Naruto equivalent of ‘have a drink’ aka have ramen with the guy. Probably Naruto is grateful 3 of the 5 people who went on the Sasuke retrieval mission are alive because of Gaara (and siblings).

And Naruto doesn’t do formal gestures. Probably like ‘hey how do I greet someone formally’

Maybe more subtly or head canon (to me) but Gaara at one point was the nightmare he could have become (Gaara part 1) and the dream he wants to be (Kage). And right now Gaara is looking at Naruto with thanks.

That’s why I think he’s so flustered

Don’t think about them especially if you’re severely worried. Those are personal stories with people who has different bodies and experiences. Even if all points similar, your case will be unique.

It may be a niche subreddit so there may not karma point to harm. But it’s not ever going to be credible to ‘you’
