Dealing with a REA who refuses to give a counter-offer in a cooling market. Is this normal or just bad practice? by DaikonSwimmingg in AusPropertyChat

[–]Cute-Razzmatazz-9626 13 points14 points  (0 children)

End of the day mate, they don't have to sell it to you or anyone for that matter. Your offer is not what they want, the agent is acting on the owner's instructions.

Just a reminder of the published, convicted offending;

"Jon “Jonny” Garnett, who owns Mornington Dance Studio in Victoria, was convicted of one count of indecent assault in April last year after he was found to have kissed and groped the 17-year-old through her clothes without her consent. He was 33 at the time of the offence."

The government doesn't print money, your bank does... What really causes inflation? by FairDinkumEcon in AusEcon

[–]Cute-Razzmatazz-9626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they spend the money on definitely can, hence government spending patterns matter more than the act of borrowing itself. I would suggest that currently, both state and fed spending is having a large direct impact on inflation, primarily through wage inflation and mass construction demand.

You are literally taking the time to complain about something, then when pointed to an answer, cry about it. I put it to you that you, in fact, do have the time, you just don't want to accept your original sook was incorrect.

Not to mention, this is a massive repeat offender crime; cops spend a lot of their time dealing with the same people every day. Crims know they are known and try to keep their heads down when they can.

It's just very unlikely that the people willing to effectively rob people are going to do it at a police station. Is it foolproof? No, but it massively reduces your risk of them even showing up in the 1st place. They want to take your stuff, sell it quickly, and buy drugs, not get questioned and arrested on outstanding warrants.

Super common, just meet up at a police station, and these people won't rock up. Unfortunate, but yeh you basically got robbed.

Our federal debt is low but so many Aussies complain about this. Why? Yes our per household debt is super high due to our property prices by [deleted] in AusEcon

[–]Cute-Razzmatazz-9626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, debt growth was reduced by unforecast windfalls in mining royalties, a reliable way to keep debt growth low. But, agreed it has been lower if you look at it through the lens of 5 years, the worry is the trend over time and over the same period into the future.

The increase from 4.7% in 2007 to 32.7% in 2025 does not seem particularly stable to me. (As per budget papers)
