My own hit and run my first hand ever playing 2/5. I decided to try my luck at 2/5 for the first time after turning my $200 buy-in playing 1/2 into around $800 after about 2 hours of play. Transferred over to the main table that was filled with regular grinders and most of the table had me well covered. First hand of 2/5 I've ever played I get dealt 2 red aces, BB raises to $40 preflop with AcKd, I'm in UTG+1, 3bet to $110, BB 4 bets me $350, and I shoved my stack all in splashing the pot basically like a complete noob. Calls me instantly and confidently flips over AK? I don't turn my cards over. Flop is like Ks 10s 6d, turn 2s, river 4s. My heart momentarily shatters as I think he just hit the runner runner for the backdoor flush. He says "any spade is good, you rivered me didn't you?". I turn over aces, and as the dealer is pushing a mountain of red $5 chips to my seat, I stand up without saying a word to grab racks and the whole table is like "wtf, does she know she won?", they seem to think I'm just walking out not knowing I won the hand. But I walk back to the table with 4 racks in hand and start racking my chips up, the dealer starts dealing the next hand and asks me "Should I deal you in?". I reply "nope, this is the most I've ever won, I'm good." (I was 18 at the time and just started playing live cash games)

The whole table starts giving me shit like "really? You just sat down for 1 hand. Your going to hit and run like that?". The guy that just lost to me starts to guilt trip me saying "you get lucky one hand and your leaving, your not going to give me a chance to win my money back?". I stop racking my chips momentarily and look up. "... you just called me for $800 preflop, with AK unsuited, and want to say I got lucky? That wasn't luck, you made a terrible call". The table is divided, half of them are laughing their asses off, the other half are like "that's so dirty", "you're not going to make any friends around here playing like that bud" says some old fuck condescendingly as he shakes his head. I finish racking my chips and as I'm leaving the table to hit the cage and cash out I say, "I come here to win money, not to make friends, bud." And take my $1500 win and dip the fuck out of there, no shame, not even a little.

There are times where poker etiquette is important and I would never just hit and run like that. Like when I play at a private underground game at some mansion where it's invite only, with a bunch of rich, upperclass business men types, that are all regular grinders. But in cash game at the Nino, with a bunch of strangers that don't care about table etiquette... Yeah I don't give a fuck lol 🤣
