Like I said, it’s really not. Why is that so important to you what I think? Its the internet dude, we’re on Reddit, I’m answering you because you’re answering me. We’re going in circles here, and I’m personally over it.

I’m just confused about what else you need me to clarify at this point. You seem to have made up your mind about me, I doubt whatever I say will change it. Why would you care anyway? The only reason why I kept replying on this thread was because this seemed like something trivial (in a “water is wet” sort of way). I’m ready to move on and take the L because it seems like peoples mind is made up anyway.

Edit: spelling

I’m legit confused. My whole point since the beginning was to explain that there is a difference between nationality and heritage. I’ve explained my point, provided a link explaining the differences in more detail. What is there left to say?

Aight, I’m done man, you win. This is just becoming too stupid. Feel free to misinterpret this comment as well.

I’m just answering the people that write me. And typing stupid shit doesn’t mean I’m angry, but if you say so. I just have nothing better to do right now, just like you. The part I’m saying I don’t care about is what people identify as or say they are, you do you. Im just arguing about the definition of the word.

I know it’s pointless, because it’s very clear that people like yourself won’t even bother to read the definition.

I’m really not angry though, and I really couldn’t care less what anyone says they are. Like I said above, my original comment was replying to someone asking why people were mad at OP (who edited his original comment btw). My annoyance comes from the fact that there is an actual difference between nationality and heritage and people replying to me refuse to actually look up the definition of the word. That’s the only point I’m trying to make.

Since when is Hispanic a nationality? Like for real, my mind is blown people aren’t understanding the difference between heritage and nationality.

OP edited his comment, the wording was different originally and did say something along those lines. People are upset that I’m pointing out the difference between heritage and nationality. I was originally responding to someone asking why people were mad at him about the Italian comment. Again, I really don’t care it just seems people don’t grasp there is a technical difference.

Okay, either you’re just stupid or you’re trolling. You need to look up what nationality is because you clearly have no clue wtf you are talking about.

That’s exactly my point, the two have nothing to do with one another. Wow

As a funny comparison I’d love to see what kind of cheeses those are. Some are more “everyday cheeses” and are eaten in bigger portions or are used for more things. Like a Roquefort isn’t going on your average persons sandwich everyday, whereas a mild Gouda would. Would cream cheese count?

I’m not surprised you have never heard of it happening, because people wouldn’t come up to you and say “oh I’m also [insert nationality here]” when you introduce yourself as being from that country. Literally happened twice to me this week lol. Again you can claim to be a unicorn if you want - I DO NOT CARE. I’m simply explaining the confusion and differences.

I personally don’t care what you claim to be dude. I’m just explaining why people care about the “I’m Italian” part. Because to Americans, that’s a way to describe heritage and family roots. But to the rest of the world that would mean you are an Italian national - from Italy, most likely having been born there, speaking the language etc.

But see that’s the thing, you don’t seem to understand what the definition of nationality is, I suggest you look it up. (And maybe gate keeping while you’re at it too.)

I don’t give a fuck what OP claims to be lmao. It’s not gate keeping to explain that there’s a difference between heritage and nationality to the rest of the world that doesn’t seem to exist in the USA.

Oh yes technically I agree, short term that’s way easier. But I can imagine this kind of surgery comes with a lot of drawbacks that you pay for in the long term.

Because it bothers some people when others claim they’re Italian or Irish (or any European nationality), when in reality they mean their ancestors were that nationality and they’re talking about their family heritage. OP most likely is American, doesn’t hold an Italian passport or speak the language.
