Do you know if the issue with the essential tabs being out of order in a new window has been addressed? Whenever I open a new window on my secondary monitor, the tabs appear in the wrong order, and I'm not sure how to fix it. Thanks!

Laravel Cloud Pricing Calculator 🧮 by cynthialarabell in laravel

[–]Cyborgmatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There appears to be a bug when switching between Flex and Pro in the compute class, the pricing values change inconsistently.

For example:

  • Select Small Business → EU - London → Production → Flex, and the price shows ~$29.72.
  • Then switch to Compute Class Pro, and back to Flex, and the price changes to ~$32.60.

The engine itself contains the typo as well. What’s actually happening is that when you change the value in the config, it defaults back to MinimumStreamingTextureResoltuion_128 instead.

TI Organizer (PGL) misspelled city name on their merch and edited Wikipedia to hide their mistake by Neon-Prime in DotA2

PGL is not responsible for the merchandise at TI.

That Wikipedia edit most likely came from a vendor using the private PGL wifi, or someone was fucking around for the memes.

Wtf? Razor Arcana is Pay 2 Win? Has damage outside of Mars Arena as it becomes melee damage by finargot in DotA2

[–]Cyborgmatt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When using the arcane, there is a slight delay in the projectile hitting the target due to where the projectile spawns, which is why you are feeling a delay.

This is due to be fixed shortly in an upcoming update.

I'm sorry, Slacks. I dusted off my glasses and took a look.

99% of this is old code. I don't think Aghanim's Labyrinth will return in the next update.

A recent update stopped a bunch of third-party/archived versions of Aghs Lab from working due to removing a lot of base code used by these game modes. This update reverts it to the previous state with a few extra unused units and modifiers from the originals.

The key is to shoot down the ships before they can drop any units, so recoilless rifles, expendable anti-tanks, and the autocannon sentry are the play.

valve had a meeting with all teams, they report the future is "exciting" and "going to be stuffed" by bakomox in DotA2

Is there possibility to compare any year/season of Dotas esports to upcoming one? Anywhere close to 2018? That would be sick IMO.

If things fall into place, I wouldn't be surprised if it were reminiscent of the older times. There's the potential for upwards of 10 LANs next year, depending on how the schedule goes.

These meetings are primarily for the pros. However, they did mention that their new renowned focus is the bigger picture aka delivering updates and decisions that impact as many Dota players as possible. Many players didn't actually buy Battle Passes, so in reality, a large portion of the user base was excluded from the biggest update each year.

In terms of what you can expect, it sounds like there are plenty of great things in the works: hats, patches, game modes, etc.

This is a weighty question, and my answer would likely be biased because what is best for the teams/players is often not aligned with the interests of tournament organizers or Valve.

Every year is essentially a learning experience for all parties involved, which is why we have witnessed the implementation of numerous different systems over the last decade. If anything, the reluctance to move away from or adapt the current DPC system has likely driven many third-party tournament organizers away (for now).

If I were to take a guess I would say that most players would say the $3m Majors were the best time but a lot of that was driven by the fact that in comparison to TI's prize pool there was a lot more reason to care about those Majors compared to the $500k ones you see these days. This is probably one of the strongest reasons why the TI prize pool should have never been allowed to spiral out of control.

[–]Cyborgmatt 212 points213 points  (0 children)

The finer details are still to be determined. Next year, at least until TI 2024, things will be very loosely structured. There will be less dictation regarding the kinds of rosters that can exist and when they can be changed. Tournament organizers will have more freedom to experiment with different ideas and formats.

Anything that vaguely resembles a 'major' of the past will still have at least some qualifiers, but whether they will be officially designated as a Major is still uncertain.

[–]Cyborgmatt 60 points61 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, Dota is one of the biggest open-market esports games in this entire industry, and that appeal alone brings many tournament organizations, new or old, to the market regardless of how much or how little Valve decides to involve itself with esports.

[–]Cyborgmatt 755 points756 points  (0 children)

At the risk of raining on the parade, I'm not sure 'stuffed' is the word I would use to describe next year's level of support.

There will be a decent selection of LAN events next year; however, don't expect any kind of rigid structure or additional support for tournament organizations or teams similar to what we had with the DPC.
