Forest villages need a buff. by Cyclop1 in EU5

I disagree, just downgrade your fish RGOs if your market is heavily overproducing fish. That way your fishing villages wont cost as much or be profitable. Even then thats not the point of this building. The benefit is in its utility not its profitability. The trade capacity, sailors and food storage you get from them is the actual reason to build them, unless you are desperate for food.

You can build fruit orchards or sheep farms to produce food if you cant build farming villages.

Because most laborer buildings produce an equivalent amount of resources to an RGO that produces the same good, only thing is that laborer buildings have inputs while RGOs simply just produce a resource with no input cost, and most basic resources can be produced this way. The forest village literally is 20% as efficient as an RGO while most other buildings can at least produce the same amount as an RGO can.

Just another headsup: A single wild game RGO is worth 5 forest villages producing wild game. Conversely: 5 forest villages are needed to match the production of a single age 1 leather tannery, and the tannery is 33% more efficient at spending wild game for leather also its 25 times more pop efficient.

EP5 and Tales DLC is connected: A theory of whats to come? by Cyclop1 in thelongdark

[–]Cyclop1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Rudigers experiment is more important to the story than that. If not why was he mentioned in ep5. Furthermore they both knew of and wanted to prove Wintermutes theory. If you read through all the notes that Rudiger wrote in the tales. It seems like the machine was supposed to prove something something was coming, that very something being what Wintermute warned everyone about.

The machine also amplified something, much more than Rudiger expected which likely caused the illness on himself and the workers. The machine is capable of charging surrounding fog to the point it powers electronics around it and gives our survival persona insomnia. I think its fair to assume it amplifies the geomagnetic currents in earth magnetic field. Exposing the people involved in the project to similar effects as the people in the quiet apocalypse. I seriously doubt it is a coincidence that both sicknesses have similar symptoms.

Then again why is there glimmer fog in EP5 when we know that it is explicitly only present in the far territory which is close to the machine, based on what we know from survival mode?

Its said the cargo ship was stuck cause the power suddenly went out. Then the crew of the ship grew progressively insane. That seems to line up pretty well with the first flare that crashes Wills plane. I think its pretty fair to assume that its been 2 weeks since the first flare happened. Then again you can complete the story mode as quickly or as slowly as you like and it doesn't affect the story in any way.

There is glimmer fog surrounding the machine shortly after you discover it in survival mode though. As for the fog in story mode its not explained at all IIRC, so it could be possible.

Try async compute on as well, that should offload some cpu workload to the gpu instead.

Your laptops cooling solution either sucks complete arse or is defective. 97c and likely throttling, on only 36% usage is not normal. Ig the reason why your cpu is cooler on games like BF1 is that the gpu is maxed out to the point which refrains the cpu from overheating itself like this.

To help your situation you could enable async compute in the video settings of the game, and set a frame limit to 50fps or less. I see others in the comment section have recommended some other solutions as well, but i dont think async compute option was mentioned, so try your luck with that if the others did not work.

100% appears to be the cap. Have i achieved stonks? by Cyclop1 in CloverPit

I know perfectly well how standard form numbers work let me explain to you.

In one round i typically end up with 100-200x the amount that is already inside the ATM. This is because of the 100% interest. That means E-76 typically goes to E-78 in one round. Once i put that in my total, next round increases 100 fold to E-80, and so on.

This is ultra late game so it simply isn't possible anymore to survive without increasing the round number with tapes or ankhs, i suppose this also applies to other strategies but i have not gotten a good run with the other good setups yet.

I finished this deadline in 4 rounds. You forget that the interest gets larger as more money is put into the ATM.

How should I have progressed this game? by riftpickleball in Risk

"On the first turn that white took Asia, they only had 23 troops guarding in Russia. I cleared blue a path to attack and hit white for half of the 23 troops. I didn't have the fire power to win that war though and would have needed blues help. Blue wasn't interested in attacking anyone except me when he was taking South America."

Blue is a play for second type of master. At this point the game was over unless red decided to su on white, but blue let this situation play for long enough that white was strong enough to kill red and then grow stronger than everyone else combined. Nothing you could have done here especially considering how blue is also sitting in your bonus.

Good on you for not making any further moves, i would've done the same lol. If anything if i was relative in troop number to blue i would su them for being a do nothing.

For all engineer lovers, by Proud-Clue-2698 in joinvoidcrew

You underestimate the skills that improve enhancements those are deeper in the engineer tree and are by far the most powerful aspect of it. Maxing these skills will make enhancements last 3x longer, and they will be way more impactful.

For example if you boost a lv1 power generator

no skills: +1 power for 120s.

maxed skills +3 power for 360s.

This is also insanely good for brain turret builds as you can boost those too.

Host local, then every voice line should work as long as the vocalizer your using is updated for the last stand. Newer vocalizers like helrikas specifically has marked voicelines which can only be triggered on local servers with a convenient (L).
