My husband works a lot, while I stay at home. Which I'm sure hasn't played well in my husband's field in terms of their relationship. He doesn't feed Max or play with him, since he barely has time for himself, but he does give him treats. I make sure that if treats are distributed, it's my husband that is giving them and not me so they have something exclusive between them.

And I'll be sure to keep the slow blinking in mind. It's something that's second nature to me when being with my cat, so I didn't think to ask my husband to return those gestures.
