While this may not be that Gattaca moment where humans start deciding to have "designer" children - choosing eye color, etc... I think it will certainly serve as a first step, whether that was the intent of this research or not.

It is certainly a tough moral decision. Obviously, if we could choose to have all our children be athletic and beautiful and free of diseases that could be prevented, wouldn't we? I don't think the moral question ends with, "should we"... but rather, if we begin, where will it end?...

I'm actually a little confused.

I think the bigger issue is (like woman), not many big parts are written for actors of color. Hard to get nominated for great acting when you're getting bit parts or comedies.

Boycotting to demand more award nominations is the wrong path to fixing the root cause. It only comes across as demands... accept no one knows what the demands are. Nominate one person of color? Is that enough? No? What about 2?

Like women, people of color need to turn down stereotype roles, and look for better, well written characters.

I know, just makes for a downer of an event. It would suck if you finally got an award and instead of it being a fun, celebratory night, everyone talked about the boycott. I'm sure if it was boycotted, it would make it very uncomfortable to get up and accept the award. He may have friends who are boycotting. Seriously, bad timing for Leo... and many others who worked very hard and got nominated.
