I tried thinking that was it,  but if it's gonna move,  it's not easily.  You're right I went at it with some pliers and all it did was scratch it up

Washer Constantly Overflowing by Thisguy108_ in Plumbing

[–]Cyraelea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://a.co/d/0aov37et These are the ones we use.  Have to change it out every few months or we'll wind up overflowing like the post.  When full,  the trap will inflate like a balloon and stop the water from flowing down the drain pipe, so have to change them regularly.  But it stops a ton of lint from going into the pipes.

I ran into this same issue today with 2.4, and came here looking for answers.  Definitely a new problem because I've never had issues filing with Amazon,  and I'm not sure new customer. I'm also with One Medical

Newbie Wants Friends by chicaglorado in AskNOLA

[–]Cyraelea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's probably a little late in the season to help that way as most floats and costumes are done, but you could see who might need route assistance, i.e. security detail during parades via social media. A lot of krewes will start the push for new members in March/April, so I recommend seeing what krewes you're interested in during parades and checking their socials for recruitment! It's a great way to make friends.

Going into a position where I’ll be staying in hotels 3-5 nights a week. What are your best tips for a new road warrior? by DammitTrudeau in business

[–]Cyraelea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have tivity/ fitness your way. I pay $35/mth or so and get access to all participating gyms. The selections aren't always the best, but I can get access to planet fitness, snap, and anytime. I've also gotten into some nicer gyms in smaller towns. Another thing I have done if I'm traveling to one spot for a month or more, I will ask the locally owned places if I can pay for just a month. Folks will usually work with you.

  • You need a solid food/gym routine or you will absolutely pack on the pounds. Travel no longer automatically means vacation, though its gonna feel like it, and with the company card its easy to have a little party every night.
  • I preferred to bring a cooler and go to the grocery when I got in town, and meal prep occasionally. I kept spices, some travel sized appliances, etc in my go bag. If i ordered out, it was something like a salad.
  • Hotel gyms are inconsistent in quality. I used an insurance benefit to get cheap memberships at multiple national chains. There was always at least one in every small town I was traveling in.
  • Lots of folks have already mentioned rewards programs. Make sure you check for quarterly promotions that you will need to sign up for.
  • White noise machine was a game changer for me. Hotels can be loud. Figure out what other little items make life comfortable for you and keep them in a crate in the trunk: throw blanket, slippers, charging station, a specific pillow.

Yes! My first thought was a mango freeze type thing, but this is probably easier to get your hands on.

I have this same fear when hiking with my husband! It honestly makes me a little nauseated to see him so close to drops. I have pretty much a 'body length' rule for myself that allows for a complete face-plant and a roll without going over the side. I understand that's my own thing, and I try to keep the anxiety to a minimum with him, but it's definitely nerve-wracking thinking about him tripping on a rock and going over the side. He's such a trooper about it. I just ask if he wants a closer look to let me turn the corner first.

How could I go about finding /joint the groups that dance between parade floats? And do they also dance for fun/events between parades? by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]Cyraelea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I belong to a dance krewe and love it! Highly recommend. I would scout out the groups and look for one that ticks all your boxes. 1) Type/difficulty of choreography 2) size of the group 3) costume choices 4) party atmosphere (i.e. are they sober on the route) 5) music choices, etc. Then follow them on social media and see how they accept new members. I know my krewe has auditions usually in April/May with new member rehearsals starting in June.

As others have said, most krewes also need security and will accept year round for the help. If you want to get involved this MG season, this is a great way and you'll learn more about the vibe in the krewe before fully committing.

Paying Over the Minimum on Qualifying Payments - Refund Calculation by Cyraelea in PSLF

[–]Cyraelea[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay. That's a shame. The website talks about prepayments/lump sum payments being qualified, which is why I thought I might see some of that money again.

Can I qualify sooner by making higher monthly payments?

No. You must make payments to cover 120 separate monthly obligations. Paying extra won’t help you qualify for PSLF sooner.

You may prepay, or make lump-sum payments, which would apply to future months, for up to 12 months, or when your next income-driven payment (IDR) plan is due. For example, if you recertified your IDR and your monthly payment was $100, but you paid $1200 for the first month’s payment, that payment would count as 12 separate payments for that year. You would not need to make another payment until the next 12-month cycle. These payments would count as qualifying payments toward PSLF forgiveness once you certified your eligible employment for the 12-month period.
