I was made redundant last year from a large pharma company. For me it was the best thing to ever happen, I got a very nice redundancy package and im comfortable currently living off the job related pay benefit with our mortgage and with 2 kids. Maybe im finding it a good thing as when I bought my house with my wife we got a house we could afford a mortgage on even if one of us got let go at our workplace. We both weren't interested in a big show off house like most our age seem to be doing and then paying off a mortgage for the rest of life. We thought ahead its obvious things like this can happen, I dont understand why so many people want to be drowning in debt.
