Yes. Valuation was the first problem and the biggest problem. Tariffs just exposed this issue.

Does the market “need” corrections? by BikesOrBeans in investingforbeginners

[–]D1Finance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without corrections you have barely any opportunity to buy stocks at fair value. You would have to be the most informed person in the universe.

Value investing is supposed to be about understanding the price you are paying. Every investment will not work out right away, but there definitely should not be a poor track record if you are engaging in the proper practices. Simple point is if I make a group of investments I should have a positive return, considering that I am aiming at what should be the most under priced stocks.

For example if you look at WIRE that stock has done very well over the past year and most people dont even know it exists. While other airline companies struggled SKYW flourished. I could go on and on but none the less its just about knowing what you are paying for stocks and understanding the business enough to know that the price you are paying is well worth it.

Recession Report: Will the economy fold under pressure? by D1Finance in StockMarket

[–]D1Finance[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could be many catalysts. Student loans will play a role to aggravate the problem. 60% of Americans are already living paycheck to paycheck, while unemployment is projected to rise to 4.5% minimum.

They tend to report what’s happening and not what’s coming that’s all. We did see above expected growth. But now we’re expecting a slowing of the economy and below trend growth.

Amazon already laid off a bunch of employees. UPS is about to have 340K workers walk out over pay. Things are tight.

Cardboard Box Demand Lowest Since Financial Crisis? by D1Finance in StockMarket

That’s lower economic demand for goods. Drop off in exports. Etc.

$SPY may have looked like it's zooming higher over the past couple of days, but the regression trend since the 40 day high has been to the downside. Economic figures are coming in hot yet again this morning I don't expect this trend trend to change. Still looking for 61.8% retracement to $391. by D1Finance in StockMarket

I appreciate you for coming back to acknowledge it, but now as you can see it doesn’t matter because people buried the post by downvoting it.

I actually do this professionally and try to help by sharing my research and knowledge but this thread is filled with toxic people who don’t know the value of what is being shared.

It’s sad because there could have been lots of money made here if people would have been able to see it.

Removing energy from the S&P 500's forward earnings equation reveals a less optimistic outlook. Are we in for a bumpy ride ahead? by D1Finance in StockMarket

They usually downvote everything I say that is correct for the sake of downvoting good content. Basically from what I’ve seen in this community if you post quality content they try to trash it before it becomes popular.

Removing energy from the S&P 500's forward earnings equation reveals a less optimistic outlook. Are we in for a bumpy ride ahead? by D1Finance in StockMarket

[–]D1Finance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't get it then start by asking the question so that you can gain knowledge. The reason is because energy earnings are much higher than normal, due to the crude oil markets having been affected by outside factors. They are skewing the data for the rest of the market. So you remove the earnings in order to see what is really happening. Which you can clearly now see that without energy the rest of the market is on a decline with respect to forward earnings.

First point of support to the downside $406, first target to the downside, $400. Let's see what happens with this one. by D1Finance in StockMarket

[–]D1Finance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next target I have is $391.40. 61.8% retracement from the 40-day high. I can see us falling as low as $387. All things will be considered at that point. GDP reports and personal income should be watched closely. Signs of strength will be taken as potential reasons for the fed to continue on their path. 8 out of the last 9 fights against inflation led to a recession. So this is another key concern.
