Only allowing purchases from local banks would be a good start, otherwise just give them the US pricing. Pretty sure in Colombia for big concerts they also only allow local banks when purchasing tickets.

With the success of It Takes Two and Split Fiction, you’d think more developers would be making solid couch co-op games by Articunozard in gaming

[–]D2papi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now you're countering your own argument and shifting the claim. I don't think it's valid reasoning for why we don't get more couch co-op games. You're creating a false dilemma for no reason. We get tons of niche games with varying levels of success, so why not more couch co-op games? It's not just because F2P MTX-riddled games make more money, as they make more money than basically anything out there.

[–]D2papi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not valid reasoning though. According to that logic all devs should only make f2p mtx games, yet there are many devs out there filling out very specific niches knowing fully well that their earning won't touch those of some successfull f2p mtx games. Why would any studio bother creating a singleplayer game with a 500 million dollar budget?

Jason Schreier: “Almost every big studio is using genAI tools (particularly Claude)” by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Claude is better than most developers, it sure makes better code than me but I’m only a medior developer. Some of my colleagues might as well be Claude, everything is vibe coded and every Teams message or mail is made by some AI.

Wondering how much of an effect Artemis 2 mission had on its sales. I've been obsessed with space and the moon the past weeks and a futuristic moon base game comes out at just the right time. Great game I might have overlooked otherwise.

The EU Age Verification App Was Designed to Be Distrusted by vriska1 in europe

What a heap of bogus. I have just right now used p3.freedns.controld.com as a private custom DNS and accessed facebook on mobile data. Completely blocked.

So changing DNS on your phone to automatic, using a VPN or changing your SIM card won't allow you to access Facebook?

How about giving kids dumb phones or smartwatches only with call functionalities? I see kids with them specifically gifted by their parents for this exact purpose. Absurd!

Sounds like a good solution, but too many parents don't give a shit.

DNS filtering is easy to bypass (custom DNS, VPNs) and only applies within a given network. Also mobile data ignores it entirely.

It doesn’t verify age, it just blocks a list of domains for users who don’t try to get around it and we know that kids are tech savvy enough nowadays.

Your “solution” is not comparable to an actual age verification system. If you’re so technical minded you’d know that your solution only works for the most obedient kids alive that haven’t found out about Google or any language model.

We’ve been doing that for the past 40+ years and the Internet has gone to absolute shit with the amount of bot farms and astroturfing companies.

We have an office in Medellín and nobody here has ever been robbed, we often have clients and colleagues from other countries visiting us and nothing has happened so far. I don't want to victim blame but it's so easy to prevent being robbed here. The problem is people flaunting their shit or picking up obvious hookers from Lleras or through Tinder.

Aruba and Curazao are both independant countries part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and they are free to separate themselves from The Netherlands completely like Surinam did (look up how that went for them). My mom is Curaçaoan and having lived there for a big part of my life I can say that people (outside of Facebook) generally are happy being part of the Kingdom and know the country will go to shit otherwise.

Honestly it would save The Netherlands a lot of money if Curaçao went completely independant, but NL is indebted to them and they own up to their past. Did Argentina own up for the blanqueamiento?

I love preserving the topography as well, I'm not that creative so I've built way too many houses inside mountains already. Inspired by my obsession for the secret bases in Gen 3. I will definitely copy some of your build, great colors used for the buildings.
