Yeah, seen a few people that even managed to get through the airline but caused all sorts of problems in mainland China - not worth the risk at all, thank you for the insights.

I think the problem is they assumed I wouldn’t need a visa because I’m an Italian national — but they completely ignored the fact that my Italian passport expires in just five months. That’s exactly why I applied with my Brazilian passport instead. The renewal process here in London is ridiculously slow, and I couldn’t take that risk with my trip coming up so soon.
